Mae Young

Mae Young started wrestling as a teenager in the late 30's or early 40's - there is some debate as to when her first match happened - and later trained under The Fabulous Moolah.

Young eventually became the inaugural Florida Women's Champion for the NWA and late captured the NWA United States Women's Championship.

She retired in the 70's, but returned to the ring in 1993 for the Ladies International Wrestling Association, often teaming up with Moolah.

In 1999, Young and Moolah began appearing on WWF television. Both became regulars during the Attitude Era, with Young often being used in comedy bits as well as taking surprising bumps. She notably dated Mark Henry, was powerbombed multiple times through tables and off a stage by the Dudleys, and gave birth to a hand.

Young was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2008. In her memory, the WWE has hosted two Mae Young Classic tournaments spotlighting young, up-and-coming female wrestlers.
