In the science fiction anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion, Evangelions (エヴァンゲリオン, Evangerion), also referred to as Evas or EVAs, are fictional biomechanical humanoids that can only be piloted by specially chosen 14-year-old children and created to defend the world from mysterious beings known as "Angels."
