Description

Railway 2 is a brand new network package which is packed with numerous new features, while maintaining the existing features of original Railway 1 project. It also brings new types of networks such as quads and mainlines. Check Railway 2 Guide in the collection, linked above.

What is Mainline Networks ?
Mainlines are part of RAILWAY2 ecosystem and feature elevated ballast and track superstructure, which is much more realistic compared to standard networks, which are on flat terrain. Mainlines comes with 3 elevation types, tunnel portal and tunnel prefabs. Since they manipulate terrain, it is not recommended to make road crossings with mainlines, use standard networks instead for this purpose.

Mainline height variations are distributed over prefabs. Use Fine Road Tool to switch between elevations.
  • Basic: 30cm (EU) or 15” (US) above ground
  • Elevated: 160cm (EU) or 5’3” (US) above ground
  • Bridge: 350cm (EU) or 11’3” above ground.

This package contains 2 networks.
  • 2x2 noded, with transmission lines
  • 4x2 noded, with transmission lines
  • 4x2 noded, with transmission lines with mixed sleepers
  • Brand new network package
  • RE136 US Standard Heavy rails
  • Custom rolling mark and track detailing
  • Sleepers based on Northeast Corridor
  • Introducing Quad Networks
  • Auto-abutments
  • Bridge Guardrails
  • American AF tunnel portals and bridges
  • 5 level customization:
  • Procedural gravel color, thanks to Network Skins (check the guide)
  • Customizable ballast with Theme Mixer

All American Concrete tracks recycle texture and materials of track superstructure between each other. All R2 networks recycle ballast, gravel texture and materials, in order to maximize the optimization. Subscribing entire pack of Concrete style cost about 40MB load.

Lights- Will I be able to place those inside rail and subway tunnels?

Wires- I tried mainline concrete and it won't show the lower and upper wires with poles... can you look into it? I only wanted to use NEC pack. All that I see when I select tower icon is the poles and lower wires that the trains use without the upper wires.

Commuter Rail- Can you make an underground island and sided platform commuter rail station? there's like only 2 of them in the shop which don't work and are not rendered, in other words, you cant see the platforms like you can in a subway station, and here in the USA there common in places like Back Bay (Boston), Penn and Grand Central Station (New York City)...

Lights: I wont add lights to tunnels as it's a rare thing to have lights for such sized tunnels, illumination is handled by trains IRL. There are however lights in custom networks that I'm preparing to publish.

Wires: You are likely using mainline concrete but not NEC one. Make sure you have the icon of transmission tower on the network you're dragging - those have transmission wires.

ok so can you add led lights to the tunnels? Also when I select towers, only the wires for the train show and not the wires at the top of the towers. whats the fix for that?

I didnt make 4 lane tunnel portals for release so they're 2 lanes on tunnels. It's quite rare to have 4 lane wide tunnels, although i was provided one example that can be made into asset. I'll look into it as a potential tunnel network for later

Also, the 4 tracks turn into 2 tracks when going underground, any fix to that as well? And can you add led lights to the tunnels?

that's a mistake on my behalf sorry, I forgot to add Amtrak catenaries as dependency. If you sub amtrak set that should fix it. Same way wooden nets will require PRR cats.

Why does just the track and wires show and not the poles that hold them when I load the game????
