Reworked Planets Gemini Update

Description
Original mod by Tommy2Shoes:

I liked this mod but it hasn't been updated in a while and isn't compatible with the most recent updates. This patch should work fine with any of those updates. All credit to the original author. If the original mod is updated I will take this down, otherwise I'll keep this updated for the foreseeable future.

Do not install this with the original mod.

Only tested this a bit, use at your own risk. You can start new games now at least which is an improvement. Report any bugs you find.

I took the liberty of raising the opposing corner environment planets habitability from 1% to 10%, as that's only 1% more habitable than tomb worlds which seemed a bit extreme to me.

If you like realistic habitability, I recommend the No Gaia Worlds Mod, since Gaia terraforming makes the habitability system redundant. Combined with this mod it'll make Continental worlds the best option for cross-species habitability, which makes sense considering Earth's diverse biosphere.

Updated for 3.8.x. Terraforming has been updated since the release of the original mod, so rather than updating the mod to reflect the changes, I've just removed the terraforming additions, since the changes are only in the cost balancing.

@Herby247 Oh man, I didn't realize that they had changed planets so drastically on the back-end. I don't suppose you could just brute-force it and manually edit the special habitability types? haha.

At least it still does what its says on the tin - all the main planet types & corresponding habitability preferences still work just fine, so don't sweat it too much :)

I am actually quite curious as to how/why it breaks the special habitabilities the way it does, so if you end up figuring it out (even if you decide that updating it isn't worth the headache) I'd love to know what you end up finding!

@Silverheart97 yeah it could have been an easy update except the planet types have been modified quite hugely since the lem update so I basically need to do it from scratch, hence i've been putting it off. I've made a start though so if i manage to finish it i'll post an update.

Heyo, super glad you made a more up-to-date version :)
Unfortunately, this has the same issue as the original: It breaks all of the "special" planet preferences. Tomb world preference only gives +20% hab on tomb worlds and +40% to all the main types where it should be 80 and 60. Gaia, Ring, and Habitat preferences give +20% to main planet types when it should be 0. Hive and machine pref give +40%, should be 0.

I've been using it with the most recent game version and it seems to work OK. But please, please, keep this updated from time to time, it is really essential for Stellaris as its default habitability system is simply crap.

I'll check what changes were made in the 3.2 update at some point, i haven't played it yet. Ironic the patch update is now out of date.

It is not updated to 3.2, right? Pity, because I really like this Mod!
youtubitz 4 Dec, 2021 @ 2:18am
Any chance of a 3.2 update?

@Herby247 I didn't even think to look at that. I was just confused why Irony was showing conflicts. I'll just override your file with theirs, it should be fine.

@Livnthedream I might take a look - planet and star types are defined in the same file which this modifies, I think I know how to fix it. My experience with modding paradox games is only on crusader kings but it's a transferable skill thankfully :)
