I personally think you should take a crack at the Brezelkäfer or Typ 1 which was built until the early 50s.
Or go full on crazy and try one of the custom beetles built by enthusiasts around that time such as the Rometsch Beeskow coupé, or one of the custom attempts at convertibles from the late 40s early 50s those look really cool, maybe even try the Karmann Ghia
Has someone made that pick-up version of the Beetle yet?
