Description
I follow the instructions provided in the Egosoft website to extract the ship models of their game X4 Foundations. After that, i simply follow the steps to convert the file so this can be used in Space Engine.

The ship is oversized on purpose. For some reason, if it is configured in a normal size, this makes dissappears the object when is viewed from the interior cameras, at least this is what i can experience when i tested the ship. If you like to put together one of the X4 ships in my workshop with another from other mods i suggest to change the size values in the .sss file inside the models folder of the ship, this can be done easily. By this way it is possible to experience a scene correct about sizes, at least for the eye... If you doesn't like to experience the object is dissappearing in the interior cameras and see from that cameras another modder ships, you must oversize those ships, not to downsize this ship. For sure it is possible a better solution to preserve true length values and interior cameras without bugs but i don't know it.

I really want to see spaceships with cockpits and interiors in the incredible Space Engine. And the X4 ships are ideal. Hope you enjoy this mod.

Oh, that can take some time. Perhaps one day i will do a guide. But i recommend you first to check the official Space Engine guide to create ships: it have all the necesary information, at least for convert models into Space Engine model format. The link for the english version of the guide is: http://spaceengine.org/manual/making-addons/creating-a-ship/ ...There are other things like some basic principles of modeling and texturing that are more related with 3d design in general, not only with model conversion into Space Engine file format. I know the game is from your country and i'm fan of this Vladimir Romanyuk masterpiece. So, i think you can find the guide in russian for sure.

Any software with compatibility with most common 3d file formats can be useful to do mods. I use most of the time Blender and 3ds Max. And Photoshop for things like textures.

Is true. You can change easily the size of the ships in the .sss file inside models folder. I notice if i make the ship in a normal size, this causes bugs for the cameras: in some cameras the object dissappears. Only solution, oversize the ship...

Hi! No, i only can do this with X4, because the method is clearly explained in Egosoft website. Im not a pro 3d designer, only an entusiast gamer. You can check the other ship i upload today, the Cerberus Vanguard.
