VAZ-2109 "Sputnik" (colloquially called "nine" [1]) is a Soviet and Russian front-wheel drive car of the II group of a small class with a hatchback-type body. Developed and serially produced at the Volga Automobile Plant in 1987-2004. From 2004 to the end of 2011, the VAZ-21093 version was assembled from vehicle kits in Ukraine at the ZAZ plant. It is a five-door modification of the VAZ-2108 in the Lada Sputnik family of models.

ВАЗ-2109 «Спутник» (простореч. название «девятка»[1]) — советский и российский переднеприводный автомобиль II группы малого класса с кузовом типа хэтчбек. Разработан и серийно выпускался на Волжском автомобильном заводе в 1987—2004 годах. С 2004 до конца 2011 года вариант ВАЗ-21093 собирался из машинокомплектов на Украине на заводе «ЗАЗ». Представляет собой пятидверную модификацию ВАЗ-2108 в семействе моделей Лада «Спутник».
