MWS-B | L30M "Viper" Stabilised Autocannon

Description

Information:
The L30M Automated Small Calibre Gun System, nicknamed Viper, was designed in response to the proliferation of small armed speedboats for which existing larger naval guns, and manned autocannons, were not suited to engage these targets at short notice. As such a Remotely Operated Weapon was required, and so the L30M was born.

The L30M is a gun system suitable for both land and sea vehicles, capable of accepting a wide variety of ammunition types to facilitate any engagement from Anti-Infantry to Anti-Ship, and even limited Anti-Air capabilities.

The nickname "Viper" was given to the L30M as when compared to heavier weapons it will subdue its foes with numerous smaller jabs rather than a few heavier ones.

Features:
  • Semi-Automatic & Automatic Fire Modes.
  • Gun Camera.
  • 100rds On-board Ammunition.
  • Remotely Operated Control Station*.
  • 2-Axis Stabilisation.
  • Fully Functional UI, including gun angle indicators & zoom slider.
  • Ammunition Counter & Warning when out of Ammunition.
  • Infrared Mode.

How to Use:
  1. Whilst in the building editor, use the Select Tool on the gun Microcontroller if you wish to un-invert the gun's pitch axis.
  2. Turn on the Monitor, you will now be able to slew the turret to the target using A/D.
  3. Select a Fire Mode, by default it is in Semi-Auto, flip the Fire Mode switch to go Full-Auto.
  4. Once ready to engage flip the Master Arm switch, the UI elements will turn Green Indicating Ready to Fire.
  5. If you want some additional stability assistance, to help counter bumps or waves, turn on the Turret Stability switch.**
  6. For use at night, turn on the IR Mode.

* Note that the turret is only operated remotely and that currently the Control Handle on the Turret is purely decorative.
** It is important that you turn off the Turret Stabilisation before you turn off the monitor power, to avoid awakening the wrath of the physics engine.

Just added one of these to my new torpedo boat, just in case. :)

Yeah but that doesn't have remote control and looks older than the other guns on the collection. I know it's a very specific case so that's why I ask if its planned instead of suggesting it

@Jarr(cito) I would reccommend you take a look at the L40M Sabretooth in the collection.

Nice guns!
Are there any plans for a new model between this L30M and the 76mm turret of the MWS-B collection? Feel like this is underpowered for my patrol boat but the 76mm is way too big

UPDATE: Now includes a Muzzle Break, also Merry Christmas everyone.

Just put 2 of these on my monitor build to supplement 2 of your 76 mm Cheetah turrets! All look awesome, and the consoles fit perfectly inside the fire control suite.

maby an idea for u then i manged to autoload such a gun with a reloder wich comes out of the ground only thing is the gun hast to be in a locked position
Oh no look who  [author] 14 Oct, 2021 @ 12:54pm
@TheLastEngineer, it cannot unfortunately, due to the small form factor of the turret and the oversized autocannon belts to make it auto reloading would result in a substantially larger mount that was also more intrusive, rather than being bolt on as is. As a result if you were to try and make it auto-reloading you would be better off going for a proper medium weight gun system due to the sheer size requirements.

can it auto reloade?
