Bombardier Amtrak Acela Express

The Acela Express is a tilting, high-speed train which was built by a Bombardier/Alstom coalition between 1998 and 2001 for the US train company Amtrak. The Acela service, which runs from Boston to DC, is the only high-speed rail service in the United States. Each trainset consists of one locomotive at each end, drawing power from an overhead catenary, and 6 coaches (1 first class, 4 business class, and 1 cafe car)

This mod allows you to have between 1-6 passenger coaches and 0-1 cafe cars. In addition you can also use a fictional double trainset with four locomotives and up to 14 coaches.



In 2014 Amtrak announced they would be retiring the entire Acela fleet. The new Alstom-built Avelia Liberty replacements are planned to enter service in 2022.
