The dealer plays her hand and returns to the stage. Gambit before wasn't the best wrestler, but she was determined to rise to the top. She'd take on any challenge, hoping someday to get a chance at a champion title. But that never happened. Every time she got close, the title fight would go to someone else. She thought at first that if she just kept at it she'd accomplish her dreams, but dreams weren't enough to keep a career going. She grew frustrated over the lack of opportunities she had and quit. Moving back to Egypt, she took over the family casino.

Running a casino reminded Gambit of wrestling. Everyone there is always trying to cheat you. Someone will try to take advantage of every flaw there is. There are some winners, but more losers. But what she learned from taking over the casino? You have to think like a criminal. No way to get swindled if you're thinking just like the people trying to rob you. Every guest at her casino was treated respectfully, but none of them were ever given any trust.

A big spender traveling in from out of the country just to gamble away some of his hard earnings at Gambit's casino was such a man. Untrustworthy, and a criminal. He made his fortune as a Muay Thai expert, competing in tournaments all over the world. He was known for his vicious style in the ring. Any mistakes while fighting him would cost the match. He knows how to take advantage of every opportunity. And while he was known for his duplicitous ways in and out of the ring, he still got the VIP treatment. All big spenders do.

The Expert recognized Gambit, and asked if she still fights. No, too busy. He would tell her that's a shame, he always thought she was almost champion material. Gambit's not one to get riled up, but she pressed him on that. What did he mean? He explained that she's tough, but from watching her fight he never saw that instinct in her that all champions have. The instinct to win at all costs. Always making the safe bets, but never willing to go all in. She told him that it doesn't matter either way, she never got a shot at a title and that there is no way it'd happen now.

"Wanna bet?"

With just one question, a fire was reignited in Gambit. What was wrestling other than gambling? There's the strategical side of it, but ultimately it always comes down to luck. She would take that bet, and he would take her on as a student, getting her back into fighting shape for the ring. Leaving the casino to one of the few people she trusted working there, Gambit traveled with the Expert to see him fight, and then applying it to her own matches she had from her world tour with him. Gambit took what she learned from him and combined it with what she learned from the casino. The ruthless dealings of someone who will bet it all to win. Coming back to wrestling was like going home, because the ring is her house...

And the house always wins.
