Blob's Flavour Bear and Crow Events

Description
Update note: Released Crow events: The Us, the Other.. (base event for Hero-Crow with Crow Scratch+, see Discussions > Detailed Description 3.4, for more info). Additional events: A Cult Following (4.2.3).

This is an event flavour pack for the Bear and Crow transformation (with Crow events still under work, and Bear events to be revised in the future, and Wolf Events may be worked on in the future). The pack does not alter the base game mechanics, introduce new graphics or abilities etc.

The concept for the Event Pack includes five base events for each Transformation:
- 2 Biome Dependent Events
- 1 Upgraded Theme Dependent Event
- 1 Pack Event (2-3 transformed heroes)
- 1 Full-transformation(ish)

Additionally, victory events, new events and jobs are unlocked by some of the base events. These are listed under additional shenanigans (in Discussions > Detailed Description).
The events fit into the Wildermyth world with some intertextual references. They are, however, at times coarser (on account of the beast themes) and darker than base game events. The heroes and the people they meet may be more confrontational, less tolerant, and some of the options given to the player may be anti-heroic. Some events have vague-to-not-so-vague cultural references (with a stand-out performance in Tale of Blondicurls), so if that's a major no-no, then this pack may not be for you.

Trigger warnings and Parental Advisory: The hibernation event chain (starting with Bear's Appetite) contains an encounter where a sleeping hero is visited by a guardian of sleep, leaving the hero feeling uncomfortable. The Night Frost event features a victim of a family history of violence. Some Bear events feature base-game asset nudity (visually comparable to naked dolls, if said dolls had bear limbs) in non-sexual contexts. Some Crow events feature reference to (irresponsible) alcohol use. I do not advise this pack for the youngest.

If the player wishes to disable events with uncomfortable triggers, this can be done in the Content and Comics Editor.

- Game menu > Tools > Open Editor > Content and Comic's editor
- Enable mod (top left corner) Blob's Bear and Crow events (exit and re-enter Comics editor)
- Search for event
[blobsflavour]_hibernation (Bear's Appetite)
or
[blobsflavour]_nightfrost
- Scroll down to a green box on the left where it says Event enabled, and click on that to disable the event.
- Save top-middle button (or Ctrl+S)

Note: Due to lack of space, I moved the Detailed Description to Discussions.

..the jokes and twists and choices all landed perfectly, to the point I'm mid-campaign and had to alt-tab out to leave a review :partygoblin:

Just stopping by to throw some Awards and say thanks!

Very well done, this mod. The events are refreshingly unique, and are well written and edited - a clean execution which mesh well with the base game in their register and humour. Kudos. Much, much better than Stanfreed's mods which often can feel sloppy and - IMHO - imbalanced.

Thank you for taking this seriously and making some changes/ giving people the option to turn it off!

(continued) And just to clarify, in the canon of the event there is no, nor did occur, any abuse. Just the ill-thought joking of an old immortal bear, which leads to discomfort. The antiquity is also referenced with allusion to early televised sitcoms in the hibernating dream.

(continued) Even if confronted, Chill bears backstory is left an enigma, as they are sworn to an oath of silence, but if the player recruits a chill bear and finds the hibernation event with that character in a subsequent campaign, some of their story is revealed in the event.

Thank you, I apologise for the lapse of judgement on my part.

I presume you are referring to the hibernation event chain? The event is based on an early adulthood experience of mine, and the dialogue turned out worse than I had meant, I'm sorry. I've updated the event with more neutral dialogue, and lack of innuendo, but I have still kept the awkwardness of the encounter.

The hibernation event chain contains a guardian of slumber, an ancient member of an order that keeps some sort of balance, or at least they think they do, by presiding over bear hibernation. Only this specific guardian, the "Chill Bear", is a renegade in that they communicate with the hiernaters afterwards, and become a recruitable hero. This leads to the hero being left uncomfortable with the encounter, and a follow up event where this trauma is worked out.

There are multiple warnings in the discription, but it's clearly lacking a warning for (s*xual) abuse. There is a part in this that can very much be triggering to some and should have a warning fs!
