Metal BigBeat Bar v1.03

Description
This mod allows the player to customize the music of ALL bars, vip rooms and jukeboxes in the game. This means the player can change the music of ALL bars, vip rooms and jukeboxes in ALL the systems and sectors (Albion, Omicron Lyrae, DeVries and Maelstorm).
In order to achieve this, I've created a special xml file which tells the game to play 4 different music files created by the player in the different bars, vip rooms and jukeboxes that are found in it.
I've included my personal choice of loops, which are based on fragments of songs by Opeth, Fear Factory and The Prodigy. Of course, you can replace those with whatever music you like, read the instructions contained in the readme file, everything is explained there.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:
Unfortunately the Steam workshop design for XRebirth mods makes them hard to edit once installed.
Mod content is compressed into a ".cat" file, which is an obstacle for customization.
If you want to use my mod for free customization of all bar/vip/jukebox music, don't use this version, use the nexus version instead. This Steam version will only work as is (playing Opeth, Fear Factory and The Prodigy in bars/vip rooms/jukeboxes)

The nexus version of this mod can be found here: http://www.nexusmods.com/xrebirth/mods/388/?

COMPATIBILITY:
Obviously, this mod isn't compatible with other sound mods that change bar, vip room and jukebox music, but should be compatible with all the rest.
I've tested this mod with X:Rebirth 2.0 and it works fine.

Note: If you are forced to disable other sound mods in order to use this one and, as a consequence, your savegames become incompatible, DON'T PANIC!!! This mod is innocent!!!! lol. Everything is fine, you just need to delete the references from the sound mod(s) you just disabled before using my mod with your savegames. How can you do this? Very easy, just download the "XRSGE" if you haven't done it already (I've linked it as a required file, but it isn't unless you find this problem), and load your chosen savegame with it, then go to the "Mods" tab and you'll see the mod(s) you just disabled in the list. After that, just select the disabled mod(s) in the list and hit the "Remove Mod" button to the right, then save the changes (File>Save) and you'll be set.
You won't need to do all this when you disable Metal_BigBeat_Bar_sfx because it's well designed, LOL.

Here is the link to the Egosoft forum post where you can download XRSGE:

The only important difference between my mod and other X:Rebirth bar music mods is the included xml file, which allows the player to customize bar,vip room and jukebox music for ALL the sectors in the game...well, it also eliminates those annoying cacophonies in bars, and doesn't render savegames incompatible after being disabled, lol.

I hope you like it!

Is there a way to change fight music?...i mean this is a lovely mod...but i hardly spend time on platforms...but the ingame fight music is annoying right now...and fights happen more often than staying in a bar...that would be great if is possible...

It would have made much more sense to have a video tutorial on HOW to adjust the songs.. :/

@Tombo
Glad you liked this mod, it's the first mod I made for X:Rebirth.
What you are asking is not compatible with the way X:Rebirth is programmed (I think).
There are four audio files that the game uses as a source for bar and jukebox music.
There's a certain "area of effect" in which those sounds are played, so to speak.
When you enter that "area of effect" the relevant audio file is triggered and starts playing in a loop.
It will keep playing until you leave the "area of effect" for that sound. This process will stop when you leave the "area of effect" and it will restart again when you come back.
That's the way X:Rebirth works with bar and jukebox music (I say this based on my experience with the game...I might be wrong). There are probably ways of forcing X:Rebirth to do what you propose, but I honestly don't know them, sorry.

Hey Meuca,

great mod you made. Everythin works fine - also on update 3.20

Maybe i have an idea for making this mod even better. It would be great, once you triggered the music box, bar sound etc to start the loop, itll play the whole wav till you leave the station.
I mean, leaving the bar and go somewhere else in station and i come back it wont start all over again. :)

Is this even possible? I dont know anything bout modding and programming! Hehe

Nevermind

Hi Res1s7.

I don't know what you mean exactly. Are you asking if it's possible to force X:Rebirth to play music from GrooveShark, Spotify and the like?

If you could somehow force that stream to create a PLAYABLE .wav file in your computer (always with the same name and location), then it would be possible. Unfortunately, I don't think those music streaming sites use .wav format (to make things worse, you need a specific type of .wav format with some mp3 filter applied, which is rare.)

You can always do this old school style. Just select the music you want, put it in your disk and use a music editor to mix it and save to that specific .wav format with specific names.

The instructions on how to do this are included in the Nexus version of this mod, everything is explained there.

Is there any way to stream in an internet stream ? Maybe using a dummy file that mplayer or some other low resource usage player plays to ?

@NicoraiPoro

Sure, it works for me. Why don't you try?

@Bongard, mate, LOL.
You only need to register at Nexus, which is 100% free. Once you've registered you can download it without problems! Anyway, I've disabled the adult content filter (I don't know why I enabled it in the first place, lol).

@TMIndustries, Thanks mate. If you don't think the included tracks fit, you can customize them as you like, that's why I created the mod. The instructions on how to do so are in the readme file.
