Master of Stellaris - Planets 3.10

Description
Introduction
Master of Stellaris is my series of overhaul mods that apply and expand upon gameplay concepts of Master of Orion II (MOO2). Master of Stellaris - Planets applies MOO2 concepts of planets, habitability, terraforming, and planet base production.

Overview of Vanilla changes
  • Planet classes - There are 8 base classes rather than 9. Tundra and Desert are arid cold/hot planets with 20% habitability. Arctic is an iced-over ocean planet with 20% habitability. Boreal and Savanna are semi-arid cold/hot planets with 40% habitablity. Tropical is a hot wet planet, and Ocean is a temperate wet planet with 60%-80% habitability, depending on starting planet. Continental is a temperate wet planet with 80% habitability. Starting planets are chosen from Continental, Tropical, or Ocean. Most planets will now have one or two planetary modifiers, as well as more blockers than in vanilla.

  • Habitability - Reduced habitability no longer costs extra Food and Consumer Good upkeep, but instead adds an Energy and Mineral upkeep (+1 of each at 0% habitability). This represents the cost of increased infrastructure for survival. Pop Growth is also decreased up to 100% rather than just 50%, while Amenity usage stays at +100%.

  • Districts - Continental, Tropical and Gaia worlds have all districts uncapped. Farming districts are uncapped on Ocean and Arctic worlds. Mining is uncapped on Tundra and Boreal worlds. Energy is uncapped on Desert, Savanna and Nuked worlds. Note that Subterranean origin do not get uncapped mining districts on Ocean and Arctic worlds.

  • Resources - Each planet has different base productions for farmers. Farmers base production of 6 is reduced to 2 on arid and tomb worlds, and to 4 on semi-arid and Arctic worlds. On Gaia and Hive, they get a +1 bonus. Farmers on Hydroponic Farms will always produce a base of 8 food, regardless of planet class, though they have an energy upkeep.

  • Terraforming - Planets can only be terraformed one step at a time toward greater habitability. Warm Barren to Desert to Savanna to Continental. Cold Barren to Tundra to Boreal to Continental. Toxic to Tropical to Continental. Arctic to Ocean. Each time a planet is terraformed, the next terrafom cost is doubled. With the Hydrocentric Ascension Perk, Continental, Tropical and Gaia worlds can be flooded to create an Ocean world of +1 size via decision. This works the same as the Expand Planetary Ocean decision using ice mining of frozen worlds.

@Gatzek It works with Guilli's PMs, but I find it messes up the balance. It is NOT currently compatible with Real Space. I will be eventually releasing my full Master of Stellaris mod, that has this functionality built on Vanilla, and this will just become a patch for Planeteary Diversity, and I plan a patch for Real Space as well. That is probably another month away, however.

and compatible with Guilli Planet Modifiers :)

Interesting mod, is it compatible with Real Space?

** ATTENTION ** I am going to be out of town until next Monday, and it is going to take some work to integrate the new Aquatics functionality with my current Aquatic functionality, so this unfortunately probably won't be updated until next Tuesday, 11/30. But it IS coming!

** ATTENTION ** I have just posted a major update that provides lots of balancing, bug fixes, AI tweaks, and a more in-depth, overhauled terraforming mechanic. I strongly recommend starting a new game, as you may experience some oddities with ongoing games, though nothing that should be game-breaking.

** ATTENTION ** So the coded mod dependencies doesn't work correctly with more than a few mods, so load order is still necessary. Just be sure this mod is below Planetary Diversity. Thank you, and enjoy!

@relytor thank you!

** ATTENTION ** I am going to be doing away with UI Overhaul Dynamic as a requirement, and adding a Patch mod to support it. Anyone currently using the mod, will need to subscribe to the patch mod once I post it to continue to use UI Overhaul Dynamic.
