Description

Information

The UUM-2B "Curveball" is a mixed guidance medium ranged fire and forget anti-submarine/vessel torpedo designed to be launched from both air, sea & underwater environments with ease. It uses both GPS & APN/EPN guidance to allow for highly accurate hits on targets ranging from submarines to vessels at a maximum range of 15km away, it requires no input once it has launched and is also capable of patrolling around a given waypoint if required.

It also doesn't need a waypoint to function correctly, if provided no waypoint it will constantly go straight-forwards until finding a potential target to hit. However, it functions best when given a waypoint, if it finds no target, it will patrol the waypoint until a target appears or it eventually runs out of battery, when finding a target, it will switch to its APN/EPN guidance and lead the target in a collision-course with it at a speed of 116kts. If it misses, the torpedo has an ability to turn around and re-engage providing another chance to hit.

DIMENSIONS: 20x3x4 (Blocks)

MINIMUM ENGAGEMENT RANGE: 1.5KM

How to use:

- (OPTIONAL!) Give the torpedo a GPS waypoint
- Fire the torpedo, make sure it is not in shallow waters and that you provide an easy route towards the target (no islands in the way etc.)

Features:
  • APN/EPN & Variable Nav Constant Guidance
  • GPS Cruise Guidance
  • 15km range
  • Top speed of 116kts
  • Fire & Forget capability, requires no input during cruise/terminal.
  • Able to operate without a waypoint.
  • Remembers the last known target XYZ provided a miss, will turn around in attempt to hit the target again.
  • Capable of "patrolling" a waypoint, will circle around it until a target appears.
  • Automatic Arming system, if a target isn't found within 2km of a waypoint, the torpedo won't arm.

what does mean APN/EPN ?

Honza, the reason why your copy-pasted torpedo doesn't work is because after the first paste, the logic connections are severed. I hope this helps.

For some odd reason if I use two torpedoes at my ship, just one of them always works even though they are connected exactly the same way from single composite output with GPS coords. It seems like if I copy paste this torpedo to my ship, only the earlier pasted torpedo works and the newer doesn't work. One of them always goes right away for GPS coords and second keeps going straight.

How do I send GPS coordinates via camera?

Can I use the JTAC station to guide these via camera/GPS like the BGIM-25A and how do I hook that into the existing system?

does this missile have roll correction? im going to be launching it on its side from a helicopter

I can, however it is already extremely limited on how I can add it,, the microcontroller is at max capacity therefore a mass identifier can't really fit into it.
