Dual Light Auto Cannon AA Mount

Description
This is a cut down version of my ever-reliable quad AA mount. (See my page, its also uploaded) This was made to fit a tigher area of deck on a large WIP frigate build.

I have mounted various iterations of my quad mount on workshop ships for MP use with buddies. Each time we got our butts kicked by aircraft, I noted deficiencies and improved the turret further. Those refinements have found their way into this dual mount.

I'm now proud to put up the final result on the workshop. Its plug and play. Internally wired for power through the turret base.

Its a fairly simple look and shoot manual turret. The HUD aimpoint and remaining ammunition dial elevate with the guns and are visible at all angles up to high angle fire. Spotlights controlled by Hotkey 1 will elevate with barrels and assist in low light engagement at close range.

The HUD is mounted on a separate pair of pivots and I've tuned away to get them to be fairly accurate as the elevation changes. Again, all but high angle fire, it is fairly spot on.

There is an automatic rest position for the elevation, keeping your barrels skyward when you leave the turret. This number can be found hooked to the elevation switchbox in the microcontroller and can be changed to your liking, as well as the function multipliers for traverse and elevation input.

The drums drain fast, so I recommend you use single (two at a time) ranging shots to get your lead and elevation sorted out, then fire in controlled bursts. If you have a buddy who can load for you and keep your drums fed, this is a highly effective turret against attacking aircraft.

The biggest drawback is its open nature. The gunner is highly vulnerable. It can also be a pain to exit the seat if the turret is pointing aft on a vessel at high speed. Easiest to bail out over the gunsight and hope you don't fall off the back of the boat.

The microcontrollers are a separate body hovering over the turret to allow easy copy/paste installation, before using the selection grid to relocate the HUD and turret control MC to a less conspicuous part of your creation.

Here it is in all of its glory to slap down on the deck of any boat or land vehicle you wish. All I ask is a little mention if you upload a vehicle with any number of these turrets installed.

Check out the quad version of this turret I uploaded if you are graced with more deck space and large ammunition reserves
