[REC] Ardent class escort carrier

Designed and built in record time, the Ardent class escort carrier is the direct successor and replacement to the Aegis class. The Aegis class was one of the longest serving REC ships, seeing action at many major engagements and countless minor ones. However their old age had been showing for some time, and they needed a replacement.

The Ardent class was a major improvement over the Aegis class. It carries more fighters and larger ones as well, has a much longer range in both jump capability and fuel capacity. It's more heavily armed, and, most importantly for the crew, gets many more amenities. In addition to this, despite being almost the same size as the Pulsar class carrier, it's much cheaper to produce. Ardent classes have already began to phase out Aegis class ships mere days after the first one finished its shakedown cruise.

A/N: This ship was made as a challenge with two of my friends, Terminal_6 and Omega. Each of us tried to build our own escort carrier in an hour, and this is what I came up with. This isn't the version that was finished at the end of the hour, that was mostly a functional husk of a ship. Twas quite a fun challenge
