ACE interact with an AI group member during the team planning period and you can customize their loadout with ACE. this is illustrated in the preview images for this (and other) DRO ACE missions.
be sure that if you have ACE Advanced Fatigue loaded, that "stamina" option is enabled.
if you have played older versions of DRO, when the mission is being configured for factions, objectives, et c on the "information" tab there is a button to reset all options to default - try clicking this button and waiting a few seconds, then set up the mission normally. this writes default values to your profile in case something got wrong somewhere.
can you send me the RPT for that mission? either use pastebin or upload it somewhere i can see it. the helicopter is programmed to land at an open spot at the LZ, and wait for any players and squad members to exit. once that happens, the helo should take off to a new way point and despawn.
it might be possible that a way point is super duper close to the edge of a map where it could despawn prematurely, or if there are mods that mess with how groups and handled by the game that could also cause a premature takeoff.
you can also use something like {LINK REMOVED}https://steamworkshopdownloader.io/ and the page URL of this mission to get a zip file with the pbo. this is probably the easiest method, but doesn't work with all addons, and has some file size restrictions.
it will appear in ~\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\107410\# where ~ is your steam installation directory, and # is the workshop ID (you can also sort by date modified). for example, this Takistan version is ID 2642803141.
inside that folder is a bin (binary) file. rename this file to something like ``Dynamic-Recon-Ops-ACE-Takistan.Takistan.pbo`` to get the resulting pbo file. note that you are changing the file type from binary (.bin) to packed bank of files (.pbo). after doing so, you can then treat the mission as any other pbo.
