LLAP, G3NTs.
May I Pm you if you would be so kind as to PM me with your discord? I'm an avid Star Trek fan and have built a number of subs in game and have something I'd love to leverage your elevators with. Callsign, Oberth (if you know Star Trek). I'd love to make this happen but I've studied your design but can't seem to figure out the logic. Which is ironic as I'm in my 40's and work in IT. Even your perspective or guidance would be appreciated and perhaps this could become a co-partnership build?

I know enough to be dangerous. You clearly have the logic of a master builder.

If you are not inclined, I totally understand and appreciate your privacy and life. But this is a great design even though I don't know how it works. I have a template put together I'd like to show you of what I'm hoping to do if you are.

Best Regards,

I've got it fixed it was fairly easy after I started fiddling with it to turn it into extendable airlock....

did you change both the track and elevator memory ? also keep in mind that you cannot reverse the numbers, cause up stays up, down stays down. (as it is a simple sum operation)

I seem to have a problem no matter what I change in the memory bits for floors elevator always seem to want to go up

u can use all the logic operators as is, but u will have to change all the parameters and inputs. A PID is known to work universally, but needs to be tuned individually.

in that case would i be able to just switch out the pumps with shuttle engines? or would it require a full redesign of the logic gate?

definitely posible

is there a way of me making this system work horizontally? im working on a ship right now that id like to have a cinematic sort of connector between the front and back of the ship

alright adding floors: copy the logic operators from the door to the new level and change the floor number in the signal check. also in the elevator, add a new button with signal check with the new floor number. connect this to the same as the other buttons are connected. also: hull, wall, and docking port position need to be really exact. having them a pixel of can ruin it quite a bit. copying them should more or less keep them in the same place relative to eachother.

How do you add more floors? I have tried for a month straight and none of the modifications I make worked. I have followed the steps needed but cannot add a single floor beyond what is already there.
