Wormhole Wallet Release v1.4
tl,dr; This mod will cause enemies to drop gold directly into your wallet, rather than spawning nuggets in the game world.

Tired of chasing down corpses for their precious money, only to arrive too late? Tired of mods that remove the despawn timer, but end up wrecking your filesize during long runs when your world is full of nuggets that never despawn?

Well, no more! The alchemists have been hard at work, and their latest invention is finally ready for you to use! The Wormhole Wallet channels quantum tunneling to instantly teleport any gold nuggets that drop directly to your inventory, and it even works with blood nuggets! Furthermore, by default it will remove any perk that it makes obsolete from the perk pool.

For the low, low price of FREE, you too can experience the convenience that comes with the Wormhole Wallet's technomagical innovations!

Sappy personal words: It's been a few years since I last updated the mod. A few years since I've seriously cared about this game. But I like to brag about Wormhole Wallet's success to my friends, and every time I visited this page, I saw that little TODO:: message at the bottom of my description. I decided it was time to make one final effort to make Wormhole Wallet feature-complete. Thank you, all 17,442 of you, for your support.

v1.4 Release Changelog:
Added two settings to disable healing particles and audio for blood nuggets.
Made a few extremely small stylistic changes to some settings text.
Increased the money/healing multiplier settings' maximum value. Yes, you can now get more money per nugget than in vanilla. Sue me.
Changed the mod's flavorful description to be more accurate to what the mod actually does.

-----Frequently Asked Questions-----
Q: This is unbalanced.
A: This is a QOL mod, designed to make things easier. However, I do have mod settings so you can adjust the amount of money and, in the case of Blood Nuggets, healing you receive from each nugget.

Q: Your mod is broken.
A: Leave a comment in the thread telling me what went wrong and how to reproduce the issue (or, at least, what you were doing when it happened), then I'll have it fixed as soon as I can get around to it.

Q: Is this compatible with ALIEN?
A: Yes, and it should be compatible with most other mods.

Q: Can you add compatibility with chests' gold drops?
A: No. Believe me, I tried. I left the code commented out, you're welcome to try to fix it yourself. If you can get it working, by all means, let me know and I'll push the update and credit you. But I've spent long enough on this.

Special thanks to my fiancee, for playtesting. You heal me in a way that no blood nugget ever could.

Quick update, I also tried enabling the perk remover mod and removing Gold is Forever while it wasn't in the pool, the game handled it just fine and spawned the perk on the ground. I'm pretty sure that mod uses code from the altar so you're almost certainly fine.

Hi @Rummy the Blargh-gineer,

It looks like it *should* work with a run in progress. I started a new one with cheat sheet, gave myself gold is forever, then enabled Wormhole wallet with all the gold perks disabled. I still had the perks and the mod still worked. I haven't tested it with the altar but I'm sure it's fine, it's only programmed to remove those perks from the pool that spawns at altars without actually removing them from the game.

I will note, the gold pickup code only runs when gold is dropped, so existing nuggets that are already in your world won't be picked up upon load-in.

Will this work with a run in progress? I have so many perks I'm worried the altar will just crash the game if I use it to remove forever gold.

Yeah, I'm aware the 100% default is maybe too high to consider it a quality-of-life mod. 100% means the full value of every nugget is sent straight to you, so you'll get everything, even off-screen trick kills and money you wouldn't normally bother picking up. It adds up to a lot.

I've found that somewhere between 50 and 60% makes for a better balance, you'll end up with about as much money as vanilla and spend less time collecting it, which was my original intent with this mod.

is it just me but does 100% "default" still feel like im earning way too much? i feel as if 100% should be the same as base game and lowering the setting should = harder game and increasing should = easier game. or am i going crazy? lol

Tested for the bug.

Methodology: Enabled only wormhole wallet and cheatgui. Spawned 4 "haxx" wands, several copies of stronger levitation. Inside the mountain, held space and spawned 100 copies of chainsaw. Since cheatGUI doesn't add sideways momentum to spells when spawned, they line up pixel-perfectly. Picked up all 100 copies, shift+clicking each inventory-full into a wand as soon as they were picked up.

Results: Was not able to reproduce the bug, all 100 copies of the spell were retained.

If you are sure wormhole wallet was the cause, please use cheatgui to reproduce the issue. Record using the ingame feature or external software. Upload to youtube or steam community, then link here. Until then, I will treat this issue as resolved.

Basically i had a chonky amount of spells all in the same location, you could even say pixel-perfectly overlapping and then i stood on them. By chonky u meant 4 pages worth. So basically near a hundred.

@TheK0tYaRa If you can share steps to reproduce the issue I'll look into it. Truthfully, since my mod doesn't do anything spell-related I'm doubtful that my mod is causing spells to disappear - but assuming you can demonstrate that Wormhole Wallet is at fault and that this is a reproducible bug, I'll look into it.
