Description
Welcome to OBO, the Overall Balance Overhaul, pronounced "oboe" (yes, like the instrument).

OBO is itself split up into many smaller mods to make finding, using, mixing and matching easier for users, and to make updating them easier on my end. Please read the main collection page for more info, as this description will only cover this submod specifically.

This is the Assault Rifle rebalance mod, which substantially improves the useabiliy of a gun that's supposed to be the go-to rifle of the EDF, and now fits that description to a T.


RATIONALE:
When I talked about useability above, I wasn't exaggerating. Before I even mention damage and stuff, I want to elaborate on what I mean. This weapon's terrible hipfire accuracy and slow reload were painful enough, but the sight also had pitiful zoom and slowed you to a crawl if you tried to use it. It also didn't even have ammunition values that divide evenly into the reserve. What the heck? And it gets worse when compared to other guns. In vanilla, it did the same damage as the Minigun, but at half the fire rate. And it was far less accurate, lengthy reloads interrupted the shooting, and it had half the reserve ammo. In short, this weapon sucked.

So now, I've waved my magic wand over this, and it suddenly functions as it is described in the lore. It's a familiar weapon in Sam's hands that thrives on it's versatility. It reloads a heckuva lot faster, hipfire accuracy is good for up to medium ranges, and it's sight zooms a bit more (not too much) and only slows you down by 10% instead of nearly by half. I also took inspiration from the real-world Mk18 that this weapon is based off of and increased the fire rate substantially. Balance-wise, it'll still do the same damage per bullet as my OBO Minigun, but isn't completely left in the dust. The Minigun will still outperform it in virtually every way, but again, not by as much. All-in-all, I'm really happy with how this turned out. The reload may be just a tad too quick, and I may change that in future, but it's still a really nice improvement overall.

This is weird. I can load the levels just fine with my mods installed, but you're the second person to report an issue with level loading, so something is definitely wrong here. Try restarting the problematic level from scratch, or restarting Steam and see if that works?

Well, because I don't have the Tommygun. Doesn't it inherit the stats from the Assault Rifle?
