Description
Welcome to OBO, the Overall Balance Overhaul, pronounced "oboe" (yes, like the instrument).

OBO is itself split up into many smaller mods to make finding, using, mixing and matching easier for users, and to make updating them easier on my end. Please read the main collection page for more info, as this description will only cover this submod specifically.

This is the Laser Gun rebalance mod, which makes some tweaks to the weapon, specifically for DPS.


RATIONALE:
My objective here was to have a viable and suitably differentiated weapon alongside the Minigun without harming the identity of either. I didn't just want a "minigun, but with travelling lasers", for example.

Before we begin, a quick explanation on how the overheat works; damage ramps up from the minimum value to the maximum as the weapon's heat builds, increasing damage with sustained fire. This is a neat feature, but for now I've balanced it for reasonable DPS.

Now for the Death Ray. So I actually enjoyed this beam attack way more than I expected to, but it is, admittedly, rather hilariously OP. It needed some kind of nerf, but I also didn't want to make it unfun. I nerfed the damage a bit, but the primary nerf was to the range to highlight its use as a close-quarters get out of jail free card, or large enemy frier. I may tweak this further.

I'm still tweaking this weapon, but I feel that it's in a good enough position to warrant its upload. Specific changes are listed below.
