Description
Welcome to OBO, the Overall Balance Overhaul, pronounced "oboe" (yes, like the instrument).

OBO is itself split up into many smaller mods to make finding, using, mixing and matching easier for users, and to make updating them easier on my end. Please read the main collection page for more info, as this description will only cover this submod specifically.

This is the Sniper Rifle rebalance mod, which makes some nifty changes to an easily-forgotten weapon.


RATIONALE:
I don't really have much to say about the vanilla Sniper Rifle. It was just kind of... there. I never really used it much, except for popping the occasional annoying Harpy. But there was potential here, and I've worked my magic to bring this weapon back to life.

First things first, this weapon's damage has been rebalanced to meet certain breakpoints when used with my OBO Enemies rebalance mod. With that installed alongside this, yoiu'll be able to oneshot everything Werebull-sized and lower, and if your aim is good, you can oneshot everything from Reptiloids to even Scrapjacks. It's also pretty good at taking down Technopolyps. But just as important as the damage, the overall feel and useability of the weapon has been improved. Hipfire is accurate enough to shoot nearby enemies reliably, and the scope zoom has been increased to make actually sniping a bit easier. This thing has powerful DPS when used right, limited only by its relatively small magazine, but reserve and pickup ammo has been increased so you aren't always running dry.

Overall, I feel like I haven't done anything to fundamentally change this weapon, I merely helped it to be what it was supposed to be. It may not be the most versatile weapon, and it shouldn't be. Instead, in the right moment, it can get you out of tough situations by eliminating dangerous enemies faster than most other weapons.
