Description
Welcome to OBO, the Overall Balance Overhaul, pronounced "oboe" (yes, like the instrument).

OBO is itself split up into many smaller mods to make finding, using, mixing and matching easier for users, and to make updating them easier on my end. Please read the main collection page for more info, as this description will only cover this submod specifically.

This is the SBC Cannon rebalance mod, which helps put the S into the name!


RATIONALE:
I would say something here about the Cannon to start this off, but it's been around, virtually unchanged for as long as Serious Sam itself, so I'll just get right into what I've done with it.

Instead of all the emphasis being put onto the direct damage itself, I've done something rather nifty to the cannonballs. By dramatically shortening their lifespan (time until self-detonation) and increasing area damage, an interesting double effect emerges. The piercing still allows it to pierce everything up to a Red Mech, but it'll also explode (with ZERO self-damage) relatively soon afterwards, killing most small-to-medium enemies nearby. It's just a neat little touch-up that adds another, relatively minor, but fun layer to the Old Reliable.

As a minor note, I also made the weapon Auto Fire again, so you needn't release the trigger between shots. The reason for this is it reduces micro-managing when wielding the Cannon in the off-hand. You can just hold the trigger, have the substantial DPS of the Cannon, and focus on your other weapon. Hope this helps. :)
