Description
Welcome to OBO, the Overall Balance Overhaul, pronounced "oboe" (yes, like the instrument).

OBO is itself split up into many smaller mods to make finding, using, mixing and matching easier for users, and to make updating them easier on my end. Please read the main collection page for more info, as this description will only cover this submod specifically.

This is the Mech rebalance mod, which tweaks the Mech vehicle's stats, both the Mech itself and its weaponry.


RATIONALE:
So I was pleasantly surprised by the Mech sections in SS4, and it kind of reminded me of the good old days of Quake IV and even Serious Sam 2's vehicles. I loved the way the Mech can dodge, and the grenade rain feels like an old bullet hell game's ultimate attack. I'll be honest that I was also a bit disappointed with the miniguns and rockets on the Mech though, but it's nothing some time in the editor can't fix!

So for starters, I increased the travel speed of the Mech Miniguns' bullets to the engine maximum of 300 meters per second, as opposed to the vanilla value of 100, and they feel a lot more responsive. As goes without saying, I rebalanced the damage to fit better with my OBO Enemies rebalance mod, but the highlight here is that I reduced the splash size of the bullets significantly to make them feel more like actual bullets. As for the rockets, I reworked their firing speed, total "magazine" size, and reload speed. I did something similar to the Mech Miniguns too. You'll now be able to spray a salvo of rockets, then switch to bullets while they reload, and vice-versa, making for a much more enjoyable and fluid experience that's difficult to describe with text. I recommend giving it a shot, and seeing how you like it.

Also, the Swarm Attack (grenade rain) now takes longer to recharge, so it's not as spammable as before, and acts more like a get out of jail free card instead of a tertiary gun. The Military Mech's HP is a tad lower, because there's no boss to fight in that section and I finished it with most of my HP left. I'll continue to tweak that and the base Mech's HP as needed.
