Description
The Ring aft is there to Protect the manouver/travel thrusters.

Recommendet combat ai:
the defensiv ai while far from perfect does the most justice to this design

Intendet use:

Turn more than 45 degrees away from the opposing force and open fire when in close combat.
While on approch fire the missiles from the thrower shortly befor close combat commences (that only works in theorie as ships in this game stay in a random direction when the inspection screen is active so to aim this missile barrage one has to guess where the fleet is the orientation of the planet should help with alligning the barrage). That should help with keeping the missiles from the coaxial mount save from flak missiles drones or dodging manouvers. When the inital spinal mount firing phase is finished the vessel should close on the enemy while maintaining the greater than 45 degrees off target angle and showing the enemy either one of the two long corners in order to increase the deflection chance while minimizing the chance of behing hit and maxemizing the accelleration. This is the reason this vessel has been designed this way.

This vessel is not designed to tank shots but to dodge them.

Changes:
Crew armor has been readded (15m diameter, 15cm thickness grafit aerogel).
Radiator update 3 and 4 GW more heat emission.
Large guidance system overhaul weapons now considerably more lighter and cheaper in cost and energy requirement. The vessels weight has been reduced the accelleration increase and the cost of th vessel nearly halfed.

As a battlecruiser this vessel is designed to catch enemy merchant ships and to harass smaller enemy fleets as well as destroying cruisers smaller than it self.
Due to the inefficiencys created through the redundcies, which where introduced to fit the vessel to its purpose, it is a bad choice for guard dutys and an even worst for patrols. Thats why battlecruisers are most often seen at the many frontlines or in storage. In action battlecruiser are often supported by a small number of cruisers enchancing the force projecting of the battlecruiser.

redundant engines producing 445 MN each at 5.31 km/s exaust velocity

The dual battleengines assembly is unessesary for a guard vessel around a planet that can service the craft or a fleet vessel that has access to support ships. It is only there as an redundency.
The engines only pulse in succsession during combat producing an (prosumed) acceleration of 1.26g with an estimated manouver time of 5 min. When manouvering the vessel on the regular inspection screen a accelleration of 2.16 g is achive while have an manouver time of 2min and 56 sec so caution while inspecting the vessel would be prudent

When the manouver engines are turned off at the correct time the battlecruiser can achive a acceleration of 1.79g with a "manouver time" of 3 min and 28 sec on a fixed course.


If you only use the manouver engines you can move very efficiently. The accelleration gets reduced to 0.33g which is 5 times lower than the actual combat speed of 1.76g while the manuver time incrases to 19 and a half minutes which is an efficiency improvement of 17%.

The lasers are very powerhungry an only to be used to defend against laterly doging missiles for everything else the secondary armament is the more prudent choice.
