Description
BLS Am 843

The heavy diesel locomotive Am 843 or Vossloh G 1700-2 BB is the swiss variant of the G 1700BB manufactured by Vossloh. It is used by SBB (Swiss Federal Railways), BLS and other smaller companies throughout Switzerland.

The diesel locomotive comes in 4 different skins, inspired by their real-life counterpart:
  • SBB Am 843, the standard SBB variant used with passenger trains, although rarely
  • SBB Am 843 Cargo, the SBB Cargo variant which is the most common one
  • SBB Am 843 Infra, the SBB Infra variant belonging to the Infrastructure subdivision of SBB
  • BLS Am 843, the variant used by BLS (Bern–Lötschberg–Simplon Railway)

Features

The locomotive is powered by an efficient 3 cylinder modular engine with manual and automatic controls.

Some of the many features:
  • Modular engine
  • Remote control
  • Intuitive and versatile controls
  • Smart throttle and brake controller
  • Compatibility with the two most common connector heights
  • Refuelling
  • Recharging
  • Automatic lights
  • Anti wheel slip
  • Emergency brake
  • Engine Bay
  • Various Equipment
  • Track Switch
  • Radio & Megaphones
  • Winch

Startup

Start by switching on the main breaker which is located on the smaller panel inside the cab. Then turn on the main- and electrical switches for the connectors. Still on the same panel enter the frequencies and enable the radio main switch. Subsequently, on the larger panel, enable the instruments and turn the ignition.

Apart from the throttle and brake controls, also the lights, heater, horn, connector-release and other controls are situated on this larger panel.
The winch and refuelling controls are located outside.

I wish you a pleasant journey!

two day ago i drove it 1/3 from Spycakes to the arctic. it had to be refuel twice and half way thru i had to increase rps to full to make up for the power loss, leading to the engine over heating ang cathing fire.

today i made it all the way ti the arctic from Spycakes only using a half tank and having no loss in power even tho i rode the throttle full open and not nedding to increase rps.

i did nothing different

Yes, until the engine starts recharging. If it still drains while the engine is running you might have to increase the rps and consider how much electricity the attached cars are draining.

is it just me or does it start to slowly loose power over time?

Very nice! Curious about what inspired you to make this specific locomotive?
