Neutral Units for Hire (Cybernetica Datasmith)

Description
DLC Required:
Warhammer 40,000: Gladius - Adeptus Mechanicus

Mod Features:
Adds the ability to buy Cybernetica Datasmiths from Jokaero Trader Encampment buildings. The unit is sold as an "item" that can be used by any unit with an inventory to "summon" the Cybernetica Datasmith into the world. Once the item is used to summon the unit, the item is consumed. There is a 1 turn "cooldown" wait period after purchasing any items (including this one). All units purchased from the Jokaero Trader Encampment cost influence and influence upkeep:

Influence Cost
Influence Upkeep
Cybernetica Datasmith
60
6

The influence upkeep costs do not take effect until the unit is summoned. Carrying the item does not cost influence upkeep.

The Cybernetica Datasmiths that are sold are altered copies from the base game. Their usual costs have been removed (replaced with the influence cost), along with their found city ability (for balance).

This item is available from the start of the match. The price is fixed, and does not change.

Known Issues:
⬥ When purchasing neutral units from the Jokaero Trader Encampment the influence cost will show correctly, but the upkeep cost will appear in the description (see image #1).

⬥ The Cybernetica Datasmiths purchased from the Jokaero Trader Encampment are a copy of the Cybernetica Datasmiths from the Adeptus Mechanicus. As a result of this unit duplication & modification, they are no longer affected by re-scaling mods (such as Gladius+).

⬥ When enabling/disabling this collection of mods (Neutral Units for Hire, Kastelan Robot, Cybernetica Datasmith, and Lord of Skulls), you must enable/disable them all at once. The in-game mods screen doesn't register individual enabling/disabling of these mods. They must be all on, or all off.

Compatability:
Conflicts:
Neutral Units for Hire, Kastelan Robot, Cybernetica Datasmith, and Lord of Skulls are all stand alone mods. They are safe to use together, but do not require each other to function.
Features:
❌ Does NOT work with re-scaling mods that re-scale units.
Load Order:
In the in-game mod list menu, this mod should be: ⬥ Anywhere

Mod Location:

@Grim_Reaper Yeah I hear ya, there isn't too much on modding for this game. I just started messing around with the XML files and sort of learned as I went.

What's this Coop Tower mod? Is this mod not working with that one?
Grim_Reaper 27 Dec, 2021 @ 6:21pm

@Grim_Reaper No problem, but unfortunately the units and their abilities from these mods (Neutral Units for Hire) are faction/race independent. There is no way to check to see what faction/race is purchasing them. Sorry!

ty and i was just wondering if you could do the found city only for Adeptus mechanicus?
Skirata  [author] 27 Dec, 2021 @ 9:19am
@Grim_Reaper alright the Cybernetica Datasmiths purchased from the Jokaero Trader Encampment are now able to heal each other properly. Thank you again for pointing this out!

@Grim_Reaper the beauty of this mod is that any faction/race can buy the Cybernetica Datasmiths from the Jokaero Trader Encampment (not just the Adeptus Mechanicus), so imagine a Space Marine player using this mod goes and buys a Cybernetica Datasmith, and then founds a second city, and then buys ANOTHER Cybernetica Datasmith and founds a third city! That would be pretty incredible haha!

In the base Neutral Units for Hire mod I addressed this same issue with the Chaos Cultists you can purchase from the Jokaero Trader Encampment, as I saw the issue this would present early on. Sorry if this isn't what you're looking for! If you're already playing as AdMech, I would suggest just building Cybernetica Datasmiths normally and founding cities using them.

hello again,

well on the other hand you still need to build a hero and go to the trader.
and the data smith is only for AM race so it would not be that OP in my opinion and my pvp opponents. they said why not it is still adeptus mechanicus

@Grim_Reaper Hi again!

I think I can fix the healing ability of the Cybernetica Datasmiths purchased from the Jokaero Trader Encampment (hopefully).

As for Cybernetica Datasmiths purchased from the Jokaero Trader Encampment not having the ability to build new cities: this is a balancing choice, as it would not be fair for factions/races that have restrictions in founding new cities to go buy some cheap Cybernetica Datasmiths and then found cities all over the map (like the Necrons for example).
