Alstom BR Class 334 ‘Juniper’ Electric Multiple Unit (E.M.U)

***Mission type addon please read rest of description for separate links on spawning the train manually***

Welcome to V2
-Now featuring omnidirectional multiple working technology, which can now work in 2 units rather than 1! (expect in the planned V3 to have ability to work in 3 units or even more!)
-Brand new sounds more akin to the real life model
-New safety systems
-Reflected cab design now featuring right side door unlock camera
-New base livery with much detail taken to closely replicate the real thing
-Custom interior with respect to livery
-No more annoying brake pressure systems
-Custom cab windows and passenger compartment windows
-Overhauled exterior detail
-Better optimisation of parts
-Tuned automatic doors
-Adapted passenger compartment lighting and more realistic passenger information systems
-Passenger compartment PA systems (does not work unless a cable is manually attached between car linkaches and unit couplers)
-Revised emergency braking systems

Step inside the advanced early 2000’s cab of the BR class 334 under the ‘Juniper’ family of trains. Take command behind the controls of the large 3 car electric multiple unit. It’s ability to connect to a catenary across the stormworks line can make it travel as far as the wire travels. With a maximum speed of 95MPH in game (90MPH irl), it’s multiple working technology can work both ways while still syncing hindering the need to turn the train around at a junction. With this train seating 174 people per set! 64 in the back and front cars and 46 in the centre car. All the seat names are labelled so you can use this train with storm link.

It’s loud, it’s more realistic, it’s good looking. Everything a person can ask for! This latest major upgrade will be a perfect work horse in many fleets from small time island loops to long haul operations with its very generous operating cost of $0 (damages and refurbishment plans are not covered). It’s cosy yet simple cabin design makes it recognisable amongst my other units. It’s easy to operate throttle/brake lever control design is undoubtedly easier to handle compared to other design philosophies. What’s that beeping I hear you ask? Why that’s the new revised safety systems installed, a brand new anti-afk driver protection (which can be optionally disabled) in case of temporary server outage, disconnected driver or a malfunctioning keyboard, the brand new non GSM-R Driver safety device! (Explanation located in the discussions page under ‘installed systems’).

To spawn the train manually, please refer to these links.
DMS unit (A): *not released yet*
PTSO unit: *not released yet*
DMS unit (B): *not released yet*

How to drive: (for manual spawning please see DMS unit (A) instructions for proper procedure)
For this short introduction I will be referring to DMS unit (A) as ‘car A’, DMS unit (B) as ‘car B’.
1. Board the train via car A or car B cabs through the driver door with the unlock switch located below as a key switch.
2. Turn on the master switch of the intended driving side.
3. Set the appropriate lighting configurations for each cab.
4. Configure the appropriate passenger information system.
5. Set the reverser to the desired setting and acknowledge the DSD warning either via the yellow button or the keyboard shortcut (reverser located below driver left elbow).
6. When ready, start increasing throttle above 0 to accelerate the train and less than 0 to iniate braking.

Reminder: To connect the cables between each car before use to allow the ability of the PA, this is optional however. Cables to connect between each gangway is located in the cab (2 cables in each cab).

More information on systems can be found in the discussions page.

Driver profile recommendations:
New driver-(AUTO SDO is off, both GSMR DSD and regular DSD are both isolated, regular DSD isolation switch can be found on the right hand side of the cab in a key switch, new drivers also not recommended to use passenger information system)
-
Amateur driver-(AUTO SDO is off, only GSMR DSD is turned on, recommend using passenger information system and setup for chosen destination or scenario)
-
Experienced driver-(all systems are enabled and all safety systems are in play)

Instructions on how to couple to another unit:
1. Makes sure the intended unit you are coupling to does not have parking brakes on except the car which you are specifically coupling to. If any of its master switches on, its emergency brakes on, or the coupler release switches please turn them all off.
2. Drive carefully towards the parked unit at around 8mph or less with the current driving unit.
3. After connection turn on the parking brake of the cab you are currently in.
4. Turn off the master switch and then turn off the parking brake of the other unit.
5. Turn on the parking brake for the cab that is intended to be driven after connection and then turn off the parking brake in the original driving cab before the connection.
6. From this point, set up the correct lighting in the opposite unit then drive the train as normal. But before doing so, you can optionally connect a cable between the couplers to allow the PA to reach the back 3 units. The cable connection points can be found under the coupler and on the opposite side of one and another, cables are already provided within each cab at the right side.

Instructions on how to uncouple:
1. Go to the cabs where the connection Is.
2. Press the coupler disconnect switch in both cabs but remember to turn on the parking brake in the unit you intend to leave behind. (Always double check for a cable in the coupling and remove it before step 3 if present)
3. Drive the other unit forwards then you have successfully uncoupled.

If you have any questions regarding the build leave them below in the comment section and I’ll try to respond at most within a day.

If you wish to upload a livery of this train, please inform me first before posting.

Please respect my workshop item, all reuploads without permission will be met with a takedown notice.

I kindly ask for you to like and/or favourite this creation to help me out :) thanks

Have fun driving.

Fair enough, also I have a suggestion, make the inside of the passenger doors green, as they were irl

I considered the saltire livery at first but because it’s just really hard to paint all those dots. I just went with the older SPT livery. More ugly but I would’ve gotten it better

This is great! You should make another version in Scotrail Saltire!

hey Loaf, sadly overhead lines dont exist as of yet, the Class 334 compensates for this by having 2 integrated infinite electric generators to power the train. Sorry about that!

hey do you know where to find overhead lines for trains as an enviroment mod
