The HELIOS Lancer is a fast & rugged ship, with two twin-mounted gatling-gun turrets, intended to chew through smaller crafts & provide short range air defense.
It makes an ideal protector & escort ship for other vessels that are less geared for up close fighting, like carriers and missile cruisers.
