Lake Itasca State Park

A map of Lake Itasca, where the Mississippi River originates.

Map locations include Douglas Lodge, Visitor Center, Mississippi Headwaters, and Bear Paw and Pine Ridge Campgrounds. Each location has a sign by it labeling it, and has some sort of structural placeholder, like a tent or a log cabin.

Trees are mostly pines with a lot of Elm, Ash, and some Maple. Used foliage tagged with North America.
Map is Temperate.

Some artistic freedom was used to create this. It's as accurate as I could get while trying to create beautiful landscapes.

I look forward to anyone that takes the map and makes a zoo out of it! I'd love some screencaps!

This map was created using a painted tiff with the map overlayed. Once I had the rough terrain mapped out, I had to smooth out all the bumps as well as I could while preserving the lakes. Placing all the trees took the longest. All foliage was hand placed due to differences in height all over the map. I could go back and constantly find things I could improve. I could try to accurate recreate all the buildings, but for now, I think the placeholders are good.
For now, this is the result.
