The 4-4-0 "STAFFORD" class locomotives were designed in April of 1891.
In December of the same year, construction of several began.

They would service the Camodo/North Habour/Donkk terminals as a medium-power locomotive, carrying freight and passengers frequently between them.

The Stafford class would become a common sight on the route, quickly becoming the most numerous type of locomotive in the area, out-competing smaller lines.

In December of 1893, Stafford class "09" broke down while on-route from Camodo to Donkk and blocked the line for many hours before a shunter locomotive was dispatched to rescue the stranded passengers. Due to issues with the firebox size, their production stopped shortly after this incident, with only 8 built.

Most were scrapped in 1930, but locomotive "09",the same that had broken down in 1893, was preserved and can still be seen pulling excursion trains through the line.
