This map covers 30*30 km area near the city center of Huaihua, Hunan, China.

Railways:

Huaihua is know as a "city on the trains". Ever since the earliest industrialization in China, the city's location has been chosen as an intersection of two railway arterials: the Hu-kun (Shanghai-Kunming) line and the Jiao-liu(Jiaozuo-Liuzhou) line. In 1970s, busy railway transportation from all over China brought unprecedented immigration and prosperity to this place, which, just 2 decades ago, was only an isolated sleeping town lying deep inside the mountains. Players of this map can utilize Huaihua's developed railway system as a unique advantage to boost their industries.

In this map, I was able to recover the two artirials mentioned above. Unfortunately, I could not replicate the railway connection heading northwest to Tongren, as well as all the high-speed railway connections because of limitations in the map editor. You can add these if you have the unlimited outside connections mod.

怀化素有“火车拉来的城市”之称。自从共和国最早的工业化建设以来，怀化就被规划为中国两条铁路主干道的交汇点，即沪昆线、焦柳线。在上世纪70年代，繁忙的铁路交通几乎一夜之间为这个曾经深处大山之中的闭塞小镇带来了前所未有的发展。玩家在游戏中亦可利用怀化发达的铁路网来进行工业扩张。
在本地图中我复原了上述两条铁路主干道。但因为原版游戏外部连接数的限制，无法复原铜仁方向的铁路连接和所有的高铁线路。激活无限外部连接mod的玩家可自行添加。

Highways:
高速公路：
This map includes Changsha-Zhijiang highway (S50), Baotou-Maoming highway (G65) and Huaihua City Beltway (S91). An exit interchange was created on the city beltway, which is then re-directed to a 2-line-2-way highway (S312) through another interchange. S312 finally enters the city starting square, close to the shore of Taiping creek. To respect the terrain, highway interchanges were slightly displaced from their locations in real life. I had to create a bunch of tunnel connections using the "map editor tunnel enabler" mod. Since this mod can not paste the texture of tunnel entrances correctly, it is fine if you see vehicles passing straight through hills. Traffic flows should not be impacted by that. 在本地图中我添加了长芷高速，包茂高速和怀化绕城高速三条高速路。入城高速出口做在绕城高速上，并通过另一个互通立交连接312省道。省道最终抵达太平溪东岸的城市初始方格。因为地形限制，各立交桥的位置与实际略有出入。

因为在崎岖的山地中修建隧道是不可避免的，而原版地图编辑器并不允许玩家创建隧道。所以在创建地图的过程中我使用了“地图编辑器隧道添加”mod。这个mod不能正确处理隧道入口的贴图，因此你可能会看到车辆径直钻进山体中。但无需担心，游戏中的车流仍然会正常运行。如遇其他问题请在留言区评论。

Waters：
水路交通：
2 major waters flows through Huaihua: the Wu river in the middle of this city; and the Taiping creek, which merges into the Wu River. Note that in this map, the water amount , speed and height drop of the Wu river are significantly higher than those of the Taiping creek (smaller stream). As a result, water would slightly backflow into the Taiping creek at the junction in game simulation. Be careful of this when you place your water pump and sewage!
Waterway connections are not included as both rivers are too narrow and shallow to run ferries on.
怀化市区有两条主要水道：潕水河和太平溪。其中潕水河流过城市中央，而太平溪最终注入潕水河。请注意在本图中，潕水河的流量，速度和落差均远大于太平溪，因此在河流交汇处附近河水会轻微倒灌入太平溪。在放置抽水机和排污管道时请务必留意这一点。因为两条河流均太窄太浅，无法放置轮船线，本作并未加入水路连接。

Airways:
空中交通：
I added 3 airway connections heading north, south and northwest, respectively. Huaihua Zhijiang airport (HJJ) locates approximately 50km away to the southwest of the city in real life, which is beyond the map. You can still find another placeto build your own airport.
本地图含三条飞机航线，分别飞往南，北和西北方向。怀化芷江机场坐落在离城区西南约50千米处，超出本地图的范围。玩家仍然可以选择建造自己的机场。

Natural Resources:
自然资源：
The flood plains by the side of rivers shall provide you vast farming land. Forest resources are available near the mountains around the city. In real life, Huaihua is blessed with a rich reserve of non-ferrous metals, but no ore has been discovered in the map area. I painted a small piece of ore resource just for the gameplay. It is impossible to find oil in this area in real life, so I went without it. A combined farming and forest industry is recommended.
遍布河岸的冲积平原提供了广阔的耕地。城市周边的山地覆盖着大片森林。现实世界的怀化市周边埋藏有大量有色金属矿物，但本图的狭小范围内并无已探明储量。为了增加可玩性，我在市区西北方向山地添加了少许矿物资源。怀化地区无已探明石油储量，因此加入地图中不合理。综上建议玩家在本地图中发展农林复合工业。

Tourism:
旅游资源：
Huaihua is surrounded by a expanse of mountains and forest, making it a perfect places to establish nature reserves. Friendly indigenous people such as the Miaos and the Dongs live in the suburb. Their unique culture and life in the mountains can be a gift visitors. In history, Zhijiang, a county under the prefecture of Huaihua, was the place Japan surrendered to the China on August 15, 1945 at the end of WW2. Build an attractive city, create your own tourist paradise, endless opportunities await you!
怀化周边富饶的森林和山地使得她成为玩家建立自然保护区的理想之选。怀化周边的各县散居着热情好客的苗族，侗族等少数民族居民，山中的独特文化和生活方式将会给游客带来难以忘怀的记忆。历史上怀化下辖的芷江县曾是抗日战争结束时日军向中国投降的地点，芷江受降标志着第二次世界大战的彻底结束。建设一座富有魅力的城市，营造你自己的旅游胜地吧！

后记：
在锦绣潇湘系列中之所以第二个选择制作怀化，是因为怀化是家母的故乡，这令我也和怀化有着特别的渊源。我母亲一直都牵挂自己的故乡，我小时候她会对我讲怀铁、安江纺织厂这些大国企的故事。从故事中我知道了是铁道兵，工人和工程师们辛勤的劳作让这座城市从地平线上出现。我知道一批作为共和国长子的企业如何在三线建设浪潮中繁荣起来；那些曾经骄傲的国企工人，他们的命运又是如何在时代中起起伏伏。怀化城的命运和这个国家一样，是和每一个劳动者的命运紧密相连的。每一个中国城市能有今天的繁荣，都离不开他们的付出。希望玩家在建设一座美丽的怀化城的同时，也能给其中千千万万的劳动者带来幸福吧。
