CAT - Brutal Weathers (stand alone) v1.1

v1.2: Slight rebalance. Storm damage reduced, spawn rates lowered slightly.

This is the brutal weathers and weather changes from the Brutal Mode Difficulty Mod separated out into its own mod by request.

The brutal weathers are currently more likely to spawn than in the Brutal mode mod.

Spawn rates, damage and hit frequency are all subject to change.
This mods balance will be adapted based on player feedback, so please leave feedback in the comments below.
Please also remember to tell me what planet you’re on, as well as what area you’re in (snowy, rocky, grass, sand) as this can affect the spawn rates.

Ok so what is this mod?
I felt that weather should be an infrequent risk not a constant repair job.
Weather is a bit different now and comes in 2 parts.
Lightning will no longer hit the player.

Normal weather:
Most weather have been adjusted in some way.
New weathers have been added.
Lightning only strikes grids if it is AlienThunderstormHeavy (Alien) or MarsStormHeavy (Mars and Titan). These hit 1 time every 5-10 minutes. Far less over all compared to vanilla

Brutal weathers:
A very low chance of a more deadly weather popping up was added, to give a risk factor that is less repetitive. It comes - then it is gone, as it should be. No need to stress about it until it is happening, as it’s unlikely to be happening as it spawn chance is low. But when it happens you better move!

MegaStorm and MegaBlizzard: These will do lightning damage to grids, these are large powerful storms on some planets that strike infrequently but do a lot of damage each strike.

Tornado and Frozen Tornado: These do wind damage. A lot of smaller bites of damage to anything not undercover. They have a habit of popping armoured blocks, but the damage is normally spread out. They are not very frequent and grid damage can be hit or miss.

It’s hard to find the right balance with weather in this game even after months of testing! So please give me feedback so I can adjust. It should not happen often enough to be annoying unless you are very unlucky. But please tell me what you think. =3

wish that weather on planet was a sort of wave that would move over an area making there to be a point to make weather stations and weather satalites ect

Hello. Industrial Overhaul adds some new ores to the vanilla planets and seems not compatible to this mod. Could you make a compatible patch for it? Thank you

No not underground!
Pulls too much server line. I mean gigantic storms where you are forced to drive on and stow small grids in bases or large rovers and perhaps also cannot fly. That, thanks to these gigantic storms, you can only use mobile bases from large grids.

The mod dose reduce the time between weathers but it’s not instant, keen can be a bit buggy sometime though. Especially if you have set a weather type at some point in your game play.
The weather between weathers is “Clear”. Clear weather means no weather as far as the game is concerned. This lasts 10-15 minuets on Earth in this mod, vanilla 10-90 minuets. Clear weather always happens between weathers. Ill consider lengthening it if more people comment on this =) Earth dose tend to be a bit wet even in vanilla :D

So I donno if its the mod or the game because I've never started on earth before. But the weather would not stop. I was clear then rain then fog back to rain.

I can put this mod on top of the "CAT - Hard Mode Difficulty Mod (core) v1.6" to make the climate much more difficult to play?

@MAMPF(GER) You mean constantly damaging weather so you’re forced to build underground? The problem with that is it’s probably impossible to start the game with it enabled lol! Even low low damage simply deletes armour blocks from the weather system :D Tho I have had a few ideas for some alternate harder games. The other issue is the weather also attacks the AI.. until someone works out how to script around that weathers a pain lol. I do a bit more research tho, I might find something appealing. :)
