Description
MISSION 1
START!

Description:
Hello and welcome to my very first (public) Starbound mod! it started with just a little idea of making the Heavy Machinegun on the wonderful Feast of Fire and Smoke mod. Then it evolved in to adding many other guns and now even adding decorative props content from the Metal Slug saga in to Starbound.

Features:
  • Many Metal Slug guns on FFS base
  • Zantetsu Sword (Upgradeable Knife)
  • Landmine (placeable explosive)
  • Explosives such as grenades, molotovs, rolling explosive balls, etc
  • Madoka Aikawa (Craftable vendor)

Roadmap:
Mission 1: Weapons and Explosives (COMPLETE!)
Mission 2: Objects and Items (START!)
Mission 3: Fun and Games
Mission 4: OST
Final Mission: The All-in-One Pack (With slightly different mechanics)

Compatibility:
As far as I'm concerned, this is compatible with anything and everything. I tested this with my personal modpack that has WAY too many mods so I'm pretty sure it's fine.
However, should you find some sort of compatibility issue or FFS changes naming conventions/reinvents itself a 2º time, feel free to tell me down below.

FAQ
Q. Why not include "x" from Metal Slug Defense/Attack and/or other titles?
A. I want this mod to be about the classic Run n' Gun Metal Slugs (1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and Advance) However if I find something interesting in MSAttack (Started playing recently) and I feel like it, MAYBE I will hear some petitions, I'm open to those games (as seen by the AMR and the Freezegun) but don't expect too much stuff from those.
Q. Arabian and Pirate Swords?
A. Are you THAT interested in swords in a Metal Slug mod?
*I did add the knife WITH Zantetsu Sword Upgrade didn't I?
Q. Why didn't you make the explosives on FFS too?
A. In Metal Slug you can spam them like crazy, can you spam ffs grandes without their animation of pulling them out and pulling the pin?
Q. SFX like the HEAVY MACHINEGUN! when I equip a gun or original gun sounds from the game instead of the generic FFS SFX?
A. If you can point me in the direction of a place where I can find good quality versions of them I would be happy to oblige (I did try SoundResource but they only have some sounds from 7)
Q. If you're planning on doing more things why not wait and release them as 1 big mod from the beginning?
A. For various reasons, 1. you may only want one part of the mod, 2. I'm still learning how to mod starbound (and I'm doing it rather slowly) 3. These mods have been in development hell for a looooooong time ok?
Q. Why do the guns feel... off?
A. Well, if you're talking size wise, that's just the default size of the sprites from Metal Slug.
If you're talking about the colors, I recolored the sprites with a Stabound palette to make them fit in better (I will not be doing this with all sprites, just the ones I feel don't fit in or need some recolor)
If you're talking about stats, these guns ARE overpowered, they were design to work as closely to their original counterparts as much as possible (you try making a magazine fed SMG capable o shooting 200 bullets non stop not overpowered) If this bothers you, I recommend playing like in the original game with a "glass cannon" character.
Q. I don't see Clothes/Wigs/Characters/NPCs and/or other stuff in the RoadMap
A. You can EASLY Make any Metal Slug Char with the right Clothes and Hair Mods, and they would look way better than using the original sprites, I don't see the point in adding those.
*If you REALLY want me to do it, get the full pack (once I release it) on the featured mods section and ask for it in the comments, and I will do it as a reward of sorts.
Q. Vehicles/Mech parts?
A. I tried ok? really really tried, I've been trying to make both vehicles from the original sprites, and Mech parts based on "Mechs" from the games, but i just can't figure out how to make it work! when it's not the size, it's the collision, of not it's off centered. I've been at it since the beginning of 2020, and these finished mods have been in development hell an entire year so sorry but no.
Q. When is the next Mission coming out?!
A. Later.
