Description

Sawyer Surge Barriers
Howdy! Sawyer Surge Barriers is an environment mod based on the IRL surge barriers that help to protect inland towns and coastal areas from flooding during large storms. The in-game ones unfortunately dont have any effect, but their mostly lag-free existence provide a nice sight to see.


Barrier Types
This environment mod includes a total of 5 barriers, consisting of 4 swing gates and 1 roller barrier. Both types are based off of their real life counterparts but, ofc, changed to fit into SW.

Automatic Operation
These barriers are programmed to close during high winds. The smaller side raise barriers close when the wind is over 15m/s. The larger barriers, which can be overridden, normally operate when the wind is over 25m/s.

The barriers will sound a long horn blast when operation is about to start. A few moments after the horn stops, the barriers will roll or swing into the closed position. The roller barrier likes to get stuck unfortunately, but should dislodge itself after a bit.

Simple Design
The style of this build is meant to fit into the SW world. It also provides a nice lag-free build (atleast for me) that can be used in your world without any considerable sacrifices.

AI Pathing Nodes
This creation comes with added AI ocean pathing nodes for boats. You dont need to enable or disable any other mods for them. Unfortunately I havent been able to ensure that they work so please let me know!

cant wait to do a ferry roleplay, miss completely, then crash headfirst at high speeds into the barrier :)

Im just gonna answer everything i see, i used this mod back when it worked.

1. I'm not sure if it works anymore, i loaded it a while back and they wouldnt show up (Yes i loaded it while creating the world, thats what your supposed to do)

2. Frequent question, HEY IDIOTS, YOUR SUPPOSED TO LOAD IT WHILE MAKING THE WORLD. DO NOT LOAD IT IN VIA ADDON EDITOR AFTER WORLD CREATION OR YOU CAN ONLY LOAD ONE AT A TIME!

sometimes it takes time for stuff to show up in the addon and workbench give it a day or two

@ VitIX i think you install the addon in a new game. I'm using the addon editor and i can only load in one at a time

you need to hit the override wind direction in the custom settings menu

@brian wdym? I always load the addon in the addons while making the game, it used to work but now it doesnt.

uhh they only like partly load in some the actual gate etc is missing? i dunno if its soemthing i did or a bug
