Passenger Information Display System Version 2.1.

This is a major upgrade to the basic passenger information display used in my Class 334 V1 and V2, X’Trapolis 100 unit (currently owned by gear shifter) and my class 158 V1. They were basic and was multiple fixed scrolling Lua text microcontrollers. In PIDS v2 you can customise the program to display your destination, next stop, current stop and the other stations you intend to stop at. This workshop page also has a more retro style P.I.D.S more closely seen on trains fitted with the real-life P.I.S used on BR models along with the modern style system you may have already used on my Class 220 Voyager train.
The system must have a master switch input to work, if you wish to forfeit this, please use a constant on signal and feed that. You must strictly follow the channels already used on this build in order for this to be set up properly; they are intentionally made higher for the convenience of the user channel inputs. The P.I.D.S follows 3 main Lua components, the UI, Internal and External. The last 2 being hosted under the UI component which stores the destination information, the conditions for an express service, etc.
P.I.D.S has many multiple layers to it which justify the right conditions for the information displayed. I will attempt to simplify them into a cheat sheet listed below.

For External Monitors:
“Not in Service” message – This happens when the entered Service Number is equal to 0.
“Express Service” message – This occurs when there are less than 3 stations logged in the system.
*Station Displayed* - The last station you entered in the system appears and there are more than 3 stations logged.
*Blank* - You have likely not turned on the P.I.D.S system or not correctly wired up the system properly.

For Internal Monitors:
“Not in Service” message – This happens when the entered Service Number is equal to 0.
*Service Number* and “Welcome on board” message – This happens when the service number is greater than 0.

Notes:
-Using the more retro style display will not display all your stations at once unlike the modern style. You must cycle through the system to view an entered station.
-When entering a station, the system will add it to the back of the list.
-When deleting a station, the system will remove the station you have currently selected.
-If you have more than 24 stations entered, it will begin to overwrite the previous station you have entered
- If you cycle more than 24 stations or the number of stations you have entered, the cycle number will default back to 1.

When pressing the announce buttons expect the following messages.
“This is *selected station*, where this service will terminate, please take your personal belongings." – this is said when the ‘announce next stop’ button is toggled and there is no station after the current one selected

“This is *selected station*, this train is for *last station entered*, the next stop is *next station after selected station*.” – this is said when the ‘announce next stop’ button is toggled and there is a station after the current one selected.

“We are now approaching *selected station*, please mind the gap when alighting from this train." – this is stated when the ‘announce approaching station’ is toggled.

PIDS updated to V2.1 increasing station capacity from 8 to 24 stops and also updated to include passenger stops in the new area of the map, changes have been made to both style of interfaces with the addition of a page number in the top right of the digital variant and the last stop being displayed at the bottom.

The older style one has only had an additional 8 segment added and are colour coded to distinguish one from another more easily.

Expect version 2.2 to have automated message displays via a compatible track radio network
