Prototypical USA Timetable Maps

Description
This map covers the Metro North (MN) territory north of Grand Central Terminal in New York City. This is the second busiest commuter rail system in the US (the Long Island Railroad is first) which feeds the second busiest station: Grand Central Terminal. This simulation is strictly based on the Spring 2015 Amtrak and Metro North timetables with very small changes made to adapt it to Rail Route.

Map Layout Notes
We pick up the four-track mainline where it exits the Park Avenue Tunnels from Grand Central Terminal and head north through upper Manhattan towards the Harlem - 125th Street Station. After crossing the Harlem River into The Bronx, we encounter the first major interlocking: Mott Haven Junction (CP 5). Here, the Hudson Line splits off to the north where it hugs the eastern bank of the Harlem River before reaching the Hudson River at CP 12. The Harlem Line continues north-northeast through The Bronx to Woodlawn Junction (CP 112) where the New Haven Line splits off east to New Rochelle.

Dispatching Tips
Dispatching inbound trains properly through CP 5 and CP 112 is critical to ensure proper flow of trains to the correct exit track. Do not break the sequence of trains since they generally arrive on map in the correct order to exit the map, with the exceptions being the trains that make the local stops on the Harlem Line between CP 5 and CP 112. Around 6:30AM, the direction of traffic flips on track 1, thus allowing three tracks for inbound trains and only one for outbounds. Despite having three tracks on the Hudson Line between CP 5 and CP 10, track 4 is not needed and shouldn't be used (prototypically, track 4 is used as a freight bypass, but is also used to pass trains making local stops if they are running late). Lastly, a handful of Amtrak trains make their way to and from the Hudson Line at CP 12 and should be considered to have the highest priority (you will be penalized otherwise).

Absolutely knows how to punish you if you don't follow the rules. What rules, you ask? it doesn't say them!
- Hudson Line outbounds get priority to cross over at Control Points 4-5. Late-game, you can some trains skip 125 but need to enter GCT on track 1; to guarantee gaps for the last few Hudson outbounds, you can jog these over to track 2 through 125.
- Track 1 must remain signaled southbound all the way through Woodlawn. Don't give in to the temptation to send expresses out ahead of slow trains; (see next bullet)
- Don't break sequence, ever. Trust me. It can bite you in particular on 125 track 4
- A little bit of preplanning (which signals you don't set as permanent block signals) will let you minimize the use of jogs from track 4 to 2 at CP 109 and all but eliminate (like single digits) diverging moves at CPs 3 (dependent primarily on the spoilered tip above) and 106.

This map is doing the work of 3 dispatching districts (M, A, C)

Can you do the MTA Metro North New Haven Line including all 3 branches? I may or may not be able to supply current timetables.
