MRL EMD Bundle

Description
With the recent news of Montana Rail link ending its 35 years of operation and BNSF buying back the line, this caused alot of talk in the railfan community. To immortalise their presence when the railroad is nearing the end, here is a livery pack depicting the MRL's older and unique EMD locomotives.

While the MRL had SD40-2's and GP35's, hell even some former Norfolk and Western SD35's, the SD19-1's and sole GP19-1 are the oddballs of the fleet. When the MRL was formed in the 1990s, experiments where made with different locomotives they had lying around. Only 2 locomotives were chosen, which were both former EMD SD9s from SP and EJ&E respecitvely.

The program didn't last long due to them being expensive, painful to maintain and operate, financial issues, and the existance of leased or new locomotives being more preferred. The 2 SD19-1's lasted in service until 2007 when they were both sold to the Columbia Basin Railroad where they currently operate as of 2021.

The GP19-1 #151 was a unique one-off, originally built as a NP GP9 in 1957, was rebuilt with a new EMD Standard Cab and other features. Sadly, not much information is known about the locomotive. Unfortunately, the unit was involved in a nasty accident in June 25th, 2008 when the unit rammed into the rear of a trailer car. The unit was likely used for spare parts and then scrapped. Such an underrated locomotive.

In this pack, you get 5 locomotives representing MRL's iconic older and unique EMD's fleet including recreations of one of the SD19-1's, the sole GP19-1, and a former Ex N&W SD35, plus 2 conventional diesels, a SD40-2 and GP35.
