Description
Re-designed as a starter/picket ship. Dropped from 5 to 4 sockets for better scale with larger ships. Kept the potential firepower (20-24 combat points) intact, even on the smaller frame.

Armament:
12 small turret hardpoints:
- 8 on the main hull
- 4 on the bow wings (top and bottom sides)

7 medium turret hardpoints
- 5 on the main hull
- 1 on the engine
- 1 under the bridge at the bow

5 small point defense turret hardpoints
- 4 on the main hull
- 1 under the engine

10 ventral torpedo launchers with additional storage space of 13.

With Xsotan armed turrets artefact and legendary turret control systems, Raytracer can equip up to 20 points in combat turrets. Additionally, 1 point for a civilian turret and 4 point defense.

With the "all round" Xsotan system and a commodore captain, the ship gains 4 more combat points, 2 civilian and 1 for point defense.

Optimal system configuration leaves 1-2 open sockets for other upgrades.

Marked blue generators inside the engine can be turned into shield generators for upgrading to naonite, or even trinium tier.

Thank you very much for taking interest.
The ship was designed mainly as a starter/early game ship. I haven't tried scaling it up in size for late game. I'm currently working on a cruiser for those areas.
The most important part with this design was the turret capacity and, like you mentioned, possible future upgrades.
It did well in testing on expert, but please do keep in mind it could still be called a prototype.
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I may try this one out.
On paper it reads like this ship can be used from early game until end game (if you upgrade the whole ship all the time and scale it up). This is a pretty well done design, if it should work this way. For ppl that like to stick to 1 vessel and upgrade it their whole playthrough.
