LOCATION: Helmand Province, Afghanistan
DATE: August 1st 2012
ELEMENT: 4 Ranger Operators, 1st Battalion
VARIABLES: Heavy Weapons on Site
SUPPORT ASSET'S: N/A

BRIEF:
Lead a Ranger fireteam from first battalion during Operation Enduring Freedom in a direction action raid on a known Taliban compound. You have no support assets and limited resources so be careful and never underestimate the enemy.

DIFFICULTY: Medium

I had a lot of fun with this map! There were some very interesting tactical choices and the first run through was quite the challenge. The map is quite buggy however, both with LoS and some less than ideal pathing, so I made some changes to it in the editor.

I got a bit carried away and made some significant changes to gameplay as well. An enemy qrf to the south, moved the dshk so it can observe the main entrance from its position to the north, a surrendering enemy coming out of the truck, (there's a dead body next to him with an AK that he will try to pickup after being surrendered for 15 seconds) I added a few sleeping spots and thinned out the enemy to match the # of beds.

I was wonder if it'd be cool if I posted my rework? Giving you credit in the description of course.

Just updated the map and removed unneeded clutter. CQB should flow better now!

Of course and thank you for the insight I may try to adjust the grass to make it more fair while still keeping the realism. It was hard with the walls because I wanted the look but coulndt get it without that style

Great layout although I really found it irritating. The walls were misleading as I thought I would be able to see through them but that was not the case. Weirdly placed FOV Blockers on the grass made it hard to clear, ultimately losing my team to a suicide bomber inside it.

I understand what you were trying to achieve and you were limited by the game mechanics of the game. I hope you take this criticism constructively.

In terms of the tall grass I wanted it to feel naturally sectioned and like someone could be hiding anywhere and for the walls I wanted to replicate the high compound walls you see in afghanistan and still have the ability to climb over them (I wish there were ladders in the game)
