由011型重巡舰体缩小设计的通用型轻巡，053K以航空能力为主打，是海上多面手，但是在使用中发现，重心过高，适航性一般，装备复杂多样，维护保养困难，舰体空间小，生活条件不佳，舰员对该舰评价不高，外形张牙舞爪，造型忙碌而嘈杂，最终导致了053H系列的出现。

但因为在1958年解放战争最终章的东海岸牵制部队表现出色，得到多次大规模、脱胎换骨式现代化改造。

Derived from Type 011 CA. 053K shrinks in size with the specialty of carrying and operating 2 helicopters. Due to her complicated nature, she was not well liked by the navy. However, she was instrumental in 1958 Taiwan Liberation Battle being 1 of the diversion force patrolling east coast. She received several large scale modification.
