Deutsche Revolution

Description
The German Revolution is a period in German history corresponding to the end of the German Empire. Begun in October 1918 by mutinies, the formation of soldiers' councils and then workers' councils, it saw the replacement of the Empire by the Republic, an episode called the "November revolution" (in German: Novemberrevolution) and the signing of the armistice of 1918.

The German socialist movement is divided between the moderates, eager to avoid a violent revolution, and the radicals, partisans of a "proletarian revolution" in the wake of the revolution of October-November 1917 in Russia, in particular the Spartakists who form then the Communist Party of Germany.
