HONDA S4000 e;

S4000は、本田技研工業のSシリーズのスポーツカーである。また、実在メーカーとしての架空車種でもある。

設定上は、本田技研工業創立70周年記念として2018年に開発開始され、Honda車種としては数少ないFR車でもある。

スポーツカーとしての運動性能を実現するために、閉断面の大型フロアトンネルと前後のサイドメンバーとを水平につなぐ「ハイXボーンフレーム構造」をS2000に引き続き採用。
あわせて、フロントピラーへは二重鋼管を内蔵し、乗員後方に高強度のロールバーを設置し、ツインドアビームを採用するなどにより、乗員の傷害軽減に配慮した構造も採用した。
また軽量化を実現するために、ボディ全体においてアルミ+CFRPが採用されているという設定とした。

「単純に、未来を見せ、ユニークで個性的で、『あ、やっぱりホンダは面白いクルマを作るな』と思わせるクルマ」を目指したとインタビューで開発者が語っている。



ここからは作者の個人の感想となるが、どこを見ても作者のこだわりだらけのクルマとなった。
日本車界隈ではいままで「フェラーリ 812スーパーファスト」や、「アストンマーチン DB11」のようなスーパーGTクーペのような存在が存在しなかった。
そこで作者は、日本車メーカー各社がもしスーパーGTクーペのようなものをつくったらどのようなデザインになるのかといった実験で「PROJECT SAMURAI GRAND TOURING」といったプロジェクトを進めていて、
その中でのホンダに相当する車種がこの「S4000」となっている。

おもなデザインテーマはF1マシンをモチーフとした。
しかし、単純にF1マシンを模倣するだけでは無く、空力の配慮や日本車特有の「塊感」を取り入れたほか、日本の漢字である「風」を表現した。

Until now, there was no such thing as a Super GT coupe like the "Ferrari 812 Superfast" or "Aston Martin DB11" in the Japanese car area.
Therefore, the author is proceeding with a project such as "PROJECT SAMURAI GRAND TOURING" in an experiment to see what kind of design a Japanese car maker would have if it made something like a Super GT coupe.
Among them, the model equivalent to Honda is this "S4000".

The main design theme is an F1 machine as a motif.
However, in addition to simply imitating the F1 machine, consideration of aerodynamics and the "lumpy feeling" peculiar to Japanese cars were incorporated, and the Japanese kanji "wind" was expressed.
