Original mod description (1.1):

V1.1

This mod adds 6 new specialized weapons, of varying ethics and uses, to the late game arsenal of weapons. These weapons are indeed powerful but they are also primarily intended to expand the late game arsenal, not to replace it.
Each weapon provides a significant advantage in certain situations, however, most of them are not as well rounded to deal with a wider variety of threats when compared to vanilla firearms and charged weapons.
All weapons are craftable by the player through machining tables and fabrication benches once unlocked and may also be encountered as quest rewards. Heavy raiders may also use some of these weapons, creating new threats and increasing the reward potential.
This mod doesn't add any new research projects, instead weapons are locked behind pre-existing projects. Information on required research, as well as weapon descriptions will be listed below. I am not responsible for any loss of life or war crimes caused by the use of this mod.
That being said, please enjoy my latest creations. :)

Acid Sprayer:
A specialized heavy weapon that sprays a sticky, caustic liquid over a large area, causing chemical burns to skin and making passage difficult. The wide-spraying nozzle and heavy canisters make this weapon highly unwieldy. Despite this, its utility is still very popular amongst war criminals and outlaws.

-Required Research: Gas Operation and Go-Juice Production (You don't wanna know what's inside this stuff)
-Sprays acid over a large area, inflicting chemical burns and toxic build-up while leaving behind acid puddles that severely reduce movement
-Enemies will strongly prefer to avoid walking through puddles, but will be slowed if they do
-Very effective against enemies hiding behind cover and melting down structures
-Large target area makes it very effective against large groups and for area denial
-Weak projectiles with very high burst count and a small splash radius help to maximize coverage
-Extremely accurate, always hits the ground
-Includes minimum firing range to prevent users from melting themselves
-Puddles wash away in rain
-Can target terrain
-Slows user's movement ever slightly
-Usable by Heavy Raiders

Flame Thrower:
A specialized heavy weapon that sprays and ignites a fuel mixture to quickly to cover an area in flames. The intense heat of the flames easily passes through shield devices. In other parts of the galaxy, these weapons have been outlawed by terrestrial war conventions.

-Required Research: Multi-barrel Weapons and Biofuel Refining
-Sprays a stream of flames that leave behind burning puddles of napalm on impact
-Steady rate of fire, effective against groups and for area denial
-Effective at denying cover
-Extemely effective in chokepoints
-Weak projectiles with high burst count and area of effect help maximize coverage
-Extremely accurate, always hits the ground
-Fire damage cannot be blocked by shields, but is useless against mechanoids
-Includes a minimum firing range to prevent users from incinerating themselves
-Can target terrain
-Slows user's movement slightly
-Usable by Heavy Raiders

Cryptosleeper:
An experimental heavy weapon that sprays unstable gasses capable of rapidly inflicting frostbite and freezing targets, similar to the Cryptosleep process without the safety measures. Quickly overwhelms personal shield devices and wreaks havoc on mechanical systems. These highly controversial weapons have been considered unethical by most.

-Required Research: Multi-barrel Weapons and Cryptosleep
-Sprays a stream of gasses that inflict debilitating frostbite, can also affect mechanoids
-High rate of fire makes this very effective at freezing single targets and draining shields
-Powerful anti-armor weapon
-Short range and very high burst count with low projectile damage and below average accuracy
-Very deadly in its effective range, but can leave the user vulnerable
-Doesn't endanger the user at close ranges
-Slows user's movement slightly
-Usable by Heavy Raiders

EMP Wave Lance:
A specialized lance weapon which projects a directed wave of electromagnetic radiation over an impressive distance. While it was designed primarily to neutralize mechanical threats, it also acts as an excellent countermeasure against shield devices.

-Required Research: Charged Shot
-Projects a wave of EMP at high speeds over an impressive distance
-Area of effect can stun multiple targets or disable multiple shields
-Steady rate of fire can keep excellent pressure
-Capable of inflicting brain shock to certain brain implant usesrs, no other damage to biological targets
-Long range allows it to slow and disable mechanoids from a relatively safe distance (Does not outrange mech turrets)
-Can target terrain
-Usable by Heavy Raiders

Coilgun:
A specialized weapon which uses electromagnetic coils to accelerate a ferromagnetic bullet through a barrel, reaching a very high velocity. The strong impact of the projectile is very effective at punching through armor.

-Required Research: Uranium Slug Turret
-Fires a high velocity projectile with high armor penetration
-Deals blunt damage, capable of stunning targets
-Medium range, single shot fire, steady rate of fire
-Similar to assault rifles in accuracy, charged rifles in range, and sniper rifles in damage
-Deals extra damage to buildings and cover
-Raiders will not use these, but the Empire will.

Laser Carbine:
A specialized weapon which projects a high-power laser beam capable of piercing shields and charring flesh, however it is largely ineffective against mechanical targets and buildings. Despite the compact barrel, this weapon boasts a very impressive effective range.

-Required Research: Charged Shot and Colored Lights
-Fires an accurate burst of lasers over a very impressive distance
-Inflicts heat based burn damage, but does not ignite fires
-Can pierce right through shields
-Extremely accurate, a monkey could snipe a rat with this thing
-Slightly less range than a sniper rifle, with comparable damage
-Ineffective against mechanoids and very weak against buildings
-Raiders will not use these, but the Empire will.


Additionally, this mod also changes the sound of flame explosions to a more realistic, roaring combustion sound (the same used for cremating corpses but louder) rather than their typical thunderous bang.
