Baseipede - A centipede inspired crawling base [WIP]

ya lol. Its pretty bare bones, but it works, you need 15x15 wheels and mechanical keybinds for mods. 1 turns on piston steering, the wheels are locked by default (steering doesn't really help) so you'll need to enable this to turn. 2 turns on the gyro align, this will keep each link locked to the gravity of the planet, when enabled all the links generally behave but you'll lose some articulation so generally you will be turning this off and on to suit the terrain. 3/4 are manual control of all the pistons and 5 engages hinge lock which is very useful when crossing a large crevasse.

It automatically homes itself after movement to make it a little easier to control, so taping left and right works best to time your turning radius. Be careful of abrupt stops and starts, you can generate waves, gyro can help you control them to hop links over bigger obstacles though. The piston links are much stronger than you think and it somehow is pretty hard to make clang out.

Not much in the way of base yet, just got it to driveable state, but plenty of room in each link to put a elevator and deploy smaller rovers and machines from or just drop the suspension, gyro override the link to tilt it and extend the blast door to drive right out. I'll probably update this when I put some actual base in it, but its fun to drive as is or build your own thing from the skeleton.

Oh yeah you can split it in half by removing the centermost piston link, both sides should function as their own 3x3 vehicle from the front most cabs. Alternatively you can split a single link out and its driveable, you'll need to use the gyro override script to balance and manual overrides to turn on the spot but you can enable steering and skid left and right to reposition a link for repair/relinking easily. Can be added on to make longer by adding more links and updating the control and gyro groups/scripts.
