Vepr with PK-A reflex sight from CoD: Ghosts

Developed in early 2000s in Ukraine, this is essentially a regular AK-74 converted to bullpup configuration with minor alterations. To their credit, they moved the charging handle in front of the weapon, unlike the creators of the Groza. In addition, it does not reciprocate when the gun cycles, and can be set to the left or right side, which does little to increase ambidexterity, as the rifle only ejects to the right. It also has a very weird marketing: the creators boast that its accuracy and range is increased 1.5-2 times compared to the original AK-74, which sounds baseless and even ridiculous, as the barrel and firing mechanism were not altered in any way. This gun was never put into serial production, and Ukraine makes licensed IWI weapons anyway.


Today is 23rd of February, which you might remember as the Fatherland Defender Day, celebrated in Russia and several other post-Soviet countries (which excludes Ukraine). I served in the Russian military, so I qualify whether you consider this day as a men's counterpart to 8th of March or not. This is a day when Russians could blast Manowar or Sabaton if they had any good war metal bands available in their language. Then again, there's Radio Tapok, which do Russian covers of the aforementioned Sabaton. You might also know about the recent "tensions" between Russia and Ukraine. That being said...

I am a Russian, a pacifist, and a gun lover. It's a strange composition, I know. Which makes me one of the very few Russians who do not want a war to happen under any circumstances. I would not delve into politics here, I think I've clearly made my point, but... Russia and Ukraine used to be sibling countries. Brother nations. People surviving a terrible worldscale conflict and the fall of the Soviet Union. People with their families, business, education. People who hate each other today because of a whim of a certain geostrategic genius. People whose countries (both of them) are in decline, whose lives and dreams are essentially ruined, because some old people long for the past "greatness" instead of allowing future and progress to happen.

Now, this model I did not want to port as-is. It is basically the MW3 AK with some touch-ups and then hastily converted into a bullpup (which is basically Vepr in a nutshell). Its sights are wrong (the actual Vepr front sight looks like a giant M16 sight, and the rear sight has something welded onto it), its upper handguard is mismodeled, and it still has a custom Western pistol grip and mag release from the MW3 model. Many of the photographs of this weapon have what appears to be a PK-A reflex sight, so I took the model of it from Black Ops. Oh, and I learned a cool thing: the weightlists! They can make a bone move less or more in an animation sequence. I used it to disable the charging handle movements during firing and to avoid the trigger finger clipping into the trigger guard on reloading by making it move twice as far.
