Description
Finally, another real workhorse!

Here we have another flagship set of 2-8-4s, the C&O Kanawh! and as an added bonus, Virginian's BA Class as well!

C&O had their own set of super steam, the Kanawha class. Famed for it's beauty and as Southern's only 2-8-4 as well (not included, couldn't find the eagle). While C&O obtained Pere Marquette's N-1 class in the merger, these beasts were just as good if not better. They hauled larger tenders and hauled ass.

The Virginian BA class was remarkably similar, with few differences. The most noticable was the "buried" steam dome and the even larger tender. There was less than 10 of these made, but still were impressive in their own right and had even more rumored speed of 87mph! Sadly, none survived.

Stats:
C&O Class K-4 Kanawha/b]
  • Available: 1943
  • Weight: 231 US tons
  • Top Speed: 70mph
  • Tractive Effort: 83,368lb/f (because of booster engine)
  • Power: 5000hp

Virginian Class BA
  • Available: 1946
  • Weight: 230 US tons
  • Top Speed: 87mph
  • Tractive Effort: 64137 lb/f
  • Power: 5000hp

Tiniest little thing, not a real issue at all but I figured I'd point out that the 2727 unlocks in 1941 alongside the Pere Marquette engines instead of 1943.

That's quite the handful for sure. Oh well best of luck on those efforts, love all of these mods. i'm always excited for anything related to American Steam

Well there's other stuff in line! I was complained by the Ciscokidd to make the n&w y6b and the trainmaster. Then personally I'm working on the UP FEF series including the skyline casing one offs. Then there's the B&O Cincinnatian and Royal Blue, and the PRR 6-4-4-6 S1. more unique locomotives!

Hey no worries!

I looked at it, I looked at all 2-8-4s in north America. It's a vastly different driver size and valve gear set up which sets it apart from say the B&M or Erie

Maybe some day!

Hate to be that guy but, what are the chances to seeing a Louisville & Nashville M-1 "Big Emma" not wanting to ask or demand just curious.
