There's an old saying that the twelve-zodiacs are both interdependent and mutually exclusive.

Now the characters in the world of Crusader Kings III can also have zodiac signs!

Zodiac signs are determined by the month in which a character is born, each zodiac sign has different ability bonuses and the AI player's personality will be influenced by it. There are also positive or negative opinion modifiers between different zodiac signs.

Characters born before the start of the game will gain zodiac traits on their next birthday.

Characters who have different cultural pillars may have completely different zodiac signs*.

(*As V. 0.2 released, all the unique zodiac signs of oriental cultural heritages have been installed, and the focus of next stage will be to adjust the balance. Characters with other cultural pillars that do not yet have a unique zodiac will have the same zodiac as the Chinese)

Although most modern people use the zodiac year as their zodiac sign, in Chinese traditional numerology, there were different zodiac algorithms for months, dates and even hours.

Considering the difficulty of implementing the zodiac year algorithm in the game, and to reflect the diversity of this gameplay to a greater extent, the zodiac month is used as the basis for determining the zodiac sign at current stage. This may be changed in future version updates.
