Personalities: RPG Alignments

Description

This mod is a simple 1-2-3 Personalities addon that replaces Enneagram personality types[www.eclecticenergies.com] with Dungeons & Dragons character alignments.

Color scheme might vary from typical combinations, like red = evil. The main criterion for substitution was matching the alignment with a personality type that has the biggest chance to appear with fitting character traits.

  • Lawful good pawns have the biggest chance of being very caring or empathetic;
  • Chaotic evil pawns will often end up pragmatic etc...

GitHub source[github.com]

Currently the change is only cosmetic - new behaviours will come with Module 3.

If you play with Module 2 and leave Fluid personalities on, exhausting events, extreme effort or passage of time can make your pawns change alignment.

Overwrites:
1 - Neutral Good
2 - Lawful Good
3 - Chaotic Evil
4 - Chaotic Neutral
5 - Neutral Evil
6 - Lawful Neutral
7 - Chaotic Good
8 - Lawful Evil
9 - True Neutral

All addons:
  • Serious Animals – changes animal personalities to short, down-to-earth descriptions
  • Anime Romance – replaces Enneagram personality types with anime archetypes
  • RPG Alignments – swaps Enneagram types for classic D&D character alignments
  • 16 Personalities – patches 16 personalities over corresponding Enneagram types

Is there a mod that adds this but for ideologies? Like, lawful/chaotic memes/precepts and stuff?

@Urist McDwarf Many of the top minds throughout history were considered insane at some point.

Missed opportunity to relabel insanity as "Chaotic Stupid".

Seems interesting. I've got my own gripes with how morality gets handled with D&D, but since the change is just cosmetic, there's really no harm. It's not like there's Paladins that can lose favor with their deity for doing something unexpected, but in-character.

As for your M3 questions, RedPine, answers got rather long so I made a discussion thread .

I’m glad to hear you can count on family, but in general that doesn’t always translate into being good. If you’re a family of villains, would it be good help your brother deal with emotional struggle after a breakup, so he can move on and resume conquering the world? Would it be bad or good to keep him depressed for months, so he can’t succeed? Also, some people help others to avoid feeling guilty about not helping, and that’s not typical “good” motivation. Family ties are a strong influence in most cultures, both in terms of creating pressure inside the group and outside, from society and culture. Put the subconscious and natural instincts on top of that and you might never be sure what was the most important factor that made you do a given thing. Things are usually much less white and black than we make them in games. And the definition of “good” varies.

Well that’s not something I thought I’ll write on a Steam workshop.

I think most people are more good than they give themselves credit for. I have some family who can be unpleasant, but are also have a strong desire to help eachother when times get tough.

Anyways, curious as to how M3 will turn out. Eneagram is kinda weird and arbitrary (even if it's colorfully descriptive, perfect for a mod) with an inner ring of 3 traits and an unconnected outer ring of 6 traits... but then this comes out with a 3x3, 2-axis grid.

Will it be adjacency based? A paper rock scissors web of interdependency? Or will each trait be independent of the others?
