Description
Fleet Standard’s new SL.10.2 Marathon-Class Light Jump Ship is a long range industrial and military support craft with extensive multirole potential, efficiently performing the duties of a jump tug, bulk transporter, ultra-long-range courier, deep space scout, and surveyor. This flexibility has made it popular with military and civilian markets alike.

The Marathon chassis is built around three class-A jump drives, allowing it to travel to its maximum jump range of 6,000 Km instantly, along with ~625,000 kg additional mass of payload without loss of range. This astounding jump distance makes interplanetary travel in most star systems trivial with the SL.10.2 platform.

The Marathon is designed to attach to its cargo via the dual static magnetic plate sets located on the top and bottom of the craft for large payloads, or with the piston actuated magnetic plates located at the nose of the craft for small payloads. A connector for docking comes standard. To support the nature of its long-haul capacity, the Marathon comes stock with a crew cabin complete with the necessary amenities.

Modifications to class-A jump drives should not be conducted without expert knowledge or the services of a professional. If you need customer support for your Marathon, please contact FS Jump Operations unit JO-31 on your local Spectrum. Fleet Standard does not condone reported use of Marathon-Class Light Jump Ships as sleeper racers, bootleggers, smugglers, or rapid-pirating vessels, and is not liable for damage or loss during such actives.

BACKGROUND:
Updated 4/4/22 to fix problem w/ subgrid inertial dampeners.

This is a vanilla ship, no mods required, all hooked up and survival ready (though not exactly printer friendly). It's designed to maglock to grids larger than it and then use its several jump drives to help *other* ships or cargo travel very far distances - and yes, all you have to do is lock the mag locks, no connectors or merge blocks required for jumping. You can even take other grids against their will... just a thought. As the cockpit is on a separate grid than the engines (and most of the gyros) Whip's subgrid thruster and gyro scripts are required. However, the core functionality is all in the large grid, so you could remove the small grid component and attach a different cockpit. Other scripts are not required. Ship is space only. As always the goal with my ships is to make simple, highly functional designs without sacrificing realism or aesthetics.

FUNCTIONALITY/SPECIFICATIONS:
-3 jump drives capable of taking the craft and 625K Kg of Payload 6000 Km Instantly or 3 rapid 2000 Km jumps (And heavier payloads shorter distances); the Marathon is light enough to carry another Marathon to max jump range
-High output power system capable of recharging all drives at max input rate simultaneously via reactors or onboard battery banks independently
-Triple laser antenna array for communicating w/ 3 jump locations in a circuit at once
-2 sets of static mag plates for large payloads, 1 set of piston actuated mag plates for small payloads
-Comprehensive camera/sensor array for surveying operations
-Two autocannon turrets for defense
-Easy Access exterior and interior Jumpstart reactors in case of power loss
-Airtight crew cabin w/ amenities. Optimized for 1 crew but can support 2.
-On board survival kit

World used in the background of the thumbnail is the Alkurah Star System by Major Jon. Also this ship has 12,000 Km range (double normal) in the Alkurah System because of tweaks Jon made to drive range in the world setting, which is neat.

Awesome, glad you like it! The subgrid might not make the printer super happy, I recommend printing in two parts (large/small) then attaching.
